COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Filtered.
One of Michael Jackson’s 500 Classic Brews. Carnegie Porter was brewed for the first time in 1836 and tastes the same today as it did then. Carnegie Porter has a creamy head with a scent of coffee. Its sweet and wellrounded flavor is balanced by the bitterness of the hops. Storage helps the flavor mature and enhances its harmony.

Dark cola with ruby hues pour. Lasting short white head. Sweet toasted fruity nose with light berry tartness. That carries on to the flavours which incorporate some citrus/acidity and cocoa. Unnoticeable alcohol. Light caramel and smoke finishes it out.

Mine doesn’t say ’Baltic’. It says Klass III porter, 5.5 % alcohol, 2010. Pours brownish black, with a tan head. Rich aroma of sweet fruits and malt. Taste is excellent, notes of coffee, malt, and very smooth and balanced. This was a great beer, thumbs way up.

Bottled from biernavigatie.nl, 2010 Vintage. Black appearance, brown head. Nose of rye, roasted malts, some iron, coffee, little bit of licorice. Sweet malty flavor, chocolate, towards the end more coffee and bitterness. Lasting dry finish. Not overly complex, but pleasant, and very easy to drink.

I drank a really fresh one yesterday (2013) so I have something to compare with when I drink the aged bottles. Dark brown color. Off-white medium head with big bubbles. Aroma of coffee. cocoa.. no complexity. Taste is sweet and just a little bit bitter. Body is pretty thin and it’s heavily carbonated.
