One of Michael Jackson’s 500 Classic Brews. Carnegie Porter was brewed for the first time in 1836 and tastes the same today as it did then. Carnegie Porter has a creamy head with a scent of coffee. Its sweet and wellrounded flavor is balanced by the bitterness of the hops. Storage helps the flavor mature and enhances its harmony.

Aroma is slight roast and pure toasty malt. Body is medium and if you closed Your eyes you might think you were drinking a Malty pale lager. Very crisp and clean, but with a little roast and black malt. Michael Jackson top 500, sure why not.

Very classic, if not archetypical, Baltic porter since 1836, claiming to still have the same taste as back then. Loose, creamy white head, colour as good as black with faint reddish hue. Nose gets coffee powder, bitter chocolate, iron, liquorice, black pepper, soy sauce and raisins. Roasted bitter taste, slick maltiness, lots of liquorice, bit resinous and oily, iron but not in a dull metallic way as with many lagers, finishing in roasted bitterness. Tasteful and hard to ignore classic.

6/25/2010. 500 ml. bottle. Black pour with a tan head. Licorice, chocolate and coffee aromas with roasted malt. Robust and bitter and a meal in itself.

Delicious new style! Chocolate malt aroma, nice lacing but little head. Great bitter dark chocolate flavor. Wish I had a pastry, maybe a cheesecake, ti go with it.

Aroma of malt and chocolate with a trace of coffee. Ebony colour with a short lasting well laced brown head. Taste of chocolate and malt with a creamy feel and a sweet chocolate palate.

It pours a dark brown with a light brown head that produces some lacing. It has strong toffee notes combine with other malts. It has a strong, creamy toffee taste that is rich enough to be almost syrupy, but not in a bad way. It is extremely smooth.

Bottle 33 cl from Systembolaget. Dark colour with a beige thin head. Chocolate, roast, slight fudge, brown sugar, hint of vanilla. Very nice bitterness, rounded sweetness. Medium body, low carbonation, slightly bitter finish. Very nice.

Almost black cola colored beer wit a small head. Aroma is sweet dark malts, smokey, some rye bread and sweet ripe plums. Taste is on the sweet side with coffee, dark malts, ripe fruitiness. Smooth mouthfeel and bitter smooth finish. Lacks the final touch, yet a very enjoyable beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
