One of Michael Jackson’s 500 Classic Brews. Carnegie Porter was brewed for the first time in 1836 and tastes the same today as it did then. Carnegie Porter has a creamy head with a scent of coffee. Its sweet and wellrounded flavor is balanced by the bitterness of the hops. Storage helps the flavor mature and enhances its harmony.

Diminishing beige head. Spread lacings. Clear dark brown body. Scents of roasted chocolate malt, earthy leaves, hops, hints of teak oil. Roasted malts, dark chocolate, and a nice spicy herby feel to the tongue. Pleasant to palate. Ends with sweet coffee notes as a continuation of the confectionery from the main taste. : . 33 cl brown bottle 5.5%, Systembolaget, import by me & t@home.

Aroma - the aroma increases with agitation and overall coming toward room temp. it takes on a little chocolate and the slightest bit of alcohol Appearance - Color is black with an initial 1" white head, it eventually fades to a thin layer. The glass laces slightly very nice appearance Taste - the flavor is a semi-sweet with a nice roast. A real subtle bitterness rolls on the side of the tongue Feel -this beer is incredible smooth, rich, and velvety. An absolutely nice brew.

(Vintage 1998) Appearance: Dark brown with a lot of red. Nose: Some dark, heavy maltiness, a bit vegetal and noticeable bottle aromas. Taste & palate: Relatively light for being a porter, a little sweetness, a little bitterness and a bit watery mid-palate. Soft. Low carbonation. This is fully drinkable but in it´s 16th year it´s clearly well past it´s peak.

330 ml bottle @ home, January 08, 2014 Beer from Systembolaget, Strømstad. Beer from a wine glass Have had this beer many times during the last years. Nice black color with a thin beige head and medium carbonation. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, some hop and dark chocolate. A bit thinner and weaker in taste than i could remember. It was also a bit dryer than i could remember The beer had a medium dry and bitter finish A bit confused regarding this beer. It was one of my favorites, but i havent tasted it for years. Better luck next time i hope.

29/11/2013 330ml bottle shared @La Tana (thanks Valeriotto!). Corpo leggerino, forse troppo, carbonazione soft. Purtroppo non era in buone condizioni, da riprovare.

Black pour with light brown head. Aromas of mild coffee, toffee and chocolate. Thin body, medium/small palate. Close to no bitterness.

From bottle. Pours a black hur with a flat - very little head. Flavor is outstanding with coffee, caramel, and hints of vanilla. Biggest shortfall is a real lack of carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

330ml bottle, pours clear brownish black with a small tan head that quickly dissipated. Aroma and taste of roasted malt and a hint of coffee and dark chocolate. Light sweetness with a medium bitterness. Medium-light body, smooth texture and average carbonation. An okay Baltic Porter, but with too light body and low ABV.

Bottle shared with Ron. Thanks Ron! After a stellar IS and IIPA, this one underwhelmed. It might not have been its fault. Cidery nose, with cola. Clear, reddish appearance. Palate is thin, malty, sweet. Doesn’t fit the normal Baltic profile.

Bottle. Poured dark with a little glint of brown against the light. Mocha head. Tough to get a good nose due to the dryness, but definitely some coffee, dark chocolate and herbal hops. Full, rich mouthfeel, creamed coffee, a hint of wood and licorice. A somewhat dry finish.
