One of Michael Jackson’s 500 Classic Brews. Carnegie Porter was brewed for the first time in 1836 and tastes the same today as it did then. Carnegie Porter has a creamy head with a scent of coffee. Its sweet and wellrounded flavor is balanced by the bitterness of the hops. Storage helps the flavor mature and enhances its harmony.

Pours dark black with a slight brown head. Aroma of mild black coffee and slight chocolate notes. A porter with classic taste. I feel like the chocolate aromas are lacking. Seems a bit unbalanced for a porter

Dark colour and tan head. I felt a bit disappointed by this, it’s quite sweet and the taste buds didn’t have to work overtime, as they have gotten used to. Still a good beer. (Bottle)

The pour is brown in color with a small tan head. Some roast malt, dark fruit, and a hint of coffee come through first on the nose. A bit dusty and oxidized. Quite a lot of dark fruit, especially prunes. The flavor is fairly simple. Some roasted malt, chocolate, and tons of dark fruit.

Pours a burnt umber color with a finger of mocha foam. Aromas are sweet caramel, roasted malt and a bit of coffee. The palate is a bit sticky but the round molasses notes work nicely with the roasted coffee background and a touch of bitterness to clean up the finish. A bit buttery but it kind of works with the style... just not in love with it.
