3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
From 0,5l bottle. BBD: 25.7.2014. Pours cloudy dark brown to black liquid, medium frothy tan head. Aroma: roasted, esspresso, dark chcolate, matly. Taste: light sweet, medium bitter, light sour, esspresso, roasted, Palate: medium body, oily texture, average carbonation, long dry bitter finish. Overall: quite good, dry roasted taste, appropraite to the style, still light sour (like the ESB) even though stored in good conditions and consumed before BBD.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Brežice Beer Fest. Deep black coloured, medium sized beige head, caramel and whiff of tobacco in the nose. Roasted malt, caramel, milk chocolate and slight buttery. Some dark chocolate and hops in the finish. Very good stout...but unfortunately few days later had this one from the bottle bought on the same Fest which was (far) worse.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Brežice Beer Fest. Poured a black body with a thick, lasting head. The aroma is initially a letdown, distinctly buttery, with some dark malts playing underneath. The taste, however, quickly erases all worries... Solid, caramelly malty backbone vs. roast... strangely enough seems more coffee than cocoa-like. A pleasant surprise and the best beer of their range I guess.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle from Kita, thanks! Dark chocolate and cocoa combined with a vanilla creaminess... hmm, sort of Schwarzwald cake maybe. Light resiny hops and - surprise - some grappa/rakija. Rather intriguing. This richness in aroma does not spill over to the taste department, which is light dry and tart from the roast, less fruity and chocolatey, albeit with some presence of licorice and coffee. Again this grappa/rakija note in the aftertaste. Does not deliver all it promises but is still a nice beer.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle, 0.50l. Cloudy dark brown color with small creamy off-white head and nice lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, liquorice and floral hops. Taste starts with moderate sweet roasted malt and mild chocolate notes, follows by pleasant fruity acidity, while finish is strong bitter. Full body, oily texture and average carbonation in palate. Stout for president :)

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
This one pours a completely dark brown almost black with a decent cream colored head.
There is a roasted malt aroma which is complemented by some coffee aroma as well.
The taste is very bitter and there’s a bit too much coffee for my liking.
A strong tasting beer.
