NicerInPerson (337), North of Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Oct 8, 2007 The aroma was fruity and malty with a sweetness and a lightly spicy hop presence. The aroma was citrusy with a candy characteristic. The beer arrived crystal clear pale golden with a low persistent white head. The flavor was malty and fruity with a moderate level of bittering and a citrusy character. The hops also presented as spicy and sweet malt with candy was also present. The body was medium-full with a moderate level of carbonation. The beer was a bit thick on the palate but the finish was dry with substantial bittering lasting into the aftertaste. A very tasty brew with some warming notable post consumption. Pint(s) at the release party at 42nd Street Oyster Bar (July 3, 2007) gotohelunc (390), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA Aug 12, 2007 Draft at the brewery. Light copper color, very long lasting light tan head. Certainly has the appearance of a PA or IPA, not what I’m used to with pilseners. Really interesting hoppy flavor with a lot going on. There is some peppery spice, a soothing alcoholic burn, and it goes down really smooth. Better at the beginning of the glass when it’s colder, but still solid to the end. I’ll DEFINITELY be buying this one if/when it’s available in bottles.
