nearbeer (1326), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Sep 22, 2008 12 oz bottle at CBC brewpub Charlotte airport. Hazy red-brown with a small head that leaves a few spots of soapy lace. Aromas of caramel and cocoa. Flavor is caramel, cocoa, marshmallow and a hint of split wood. Light-medium bodied, watery and just a touch to the dry side. kiefdog (476), Tampa, Florida, USA Jun 29, 2008 Tasted on a recent visit to Woods on South in Charlotte, NC. Pours a an amber red with a thin whitish head. Aroma is faint and just a little bitter -- hard to make out some of the notes but maybe some wheat, bread, malt. Flavor is also a little malty with some slight sweetness as well. Maybe some notes of caramel. Light to medium-bodied with a slightly bitter finish. Rogueone (372), I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio, USA Jun 5, 2008 Bottle, thanks ucusty: Pours -- shock -- amber red. Little wispy ring of white head. A bit of skunked caramel aroma and buttery like butterscotch. Flavor is toasted malts, some sweetness... falls a little flat on the palate without any hop crispness. ucusty (1213), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Jun 4, 2008 Copper pour with an off white head. Funky malts on the nose. Than goodness the flavor is better then the aroma. Sweet caramel, toast, and bread. arventresca (171), Greenville, North Carolina, USA Jun 1, 2008 Redish. Smell of sweet hops. Nice body to this beer. Not bad for a red ale considering I typically don’t drink em. A little sweet.
