I had this beer last fall with a buddy and it was good. It had a nice pumpkin taste and aroma. I am a huge fan of pumpkin pie and this honestly tasted like one.

Amber colour with a slight haze. Big nose of pumpkin, nutmeg and a little clove. Sweet palate, very spicy. Quite dessert-like even for a pumpkin beer with lovely sugars, pumpkin accents and smooth but assertive spicing. Nicely rounded example.

Mahhagony colored. Medium head. Good pumpkin and spice in the nose. Slightly thin but good. One of the better examples for sure.

Bottle courtesy of ross. Pours a dark amber with a tan diminsihing head. Smells of cookie dough, pumpkins, pumpkin spices and gingerbread. Tastes of pumpkin, spice, and ginberbread. One of the more interesting pumpkin beers I’ve tasted. Thanks, ross!

Bottle courtesy of Doodler (thanks Scott) poured a clear reddish amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of allspice, ginger, cinnamon, carmel and light pie crust. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of ginger, cinnamon, allspice, cvarmel and light pie crust with a smooth lingering spiced finish.

Aroma is strong but not overwhelming, rather pumpkin-like and with strong spice overtones, particularly cloves. Color is a nice dark reddish amber; head is off-white and fairly thick but does not persist. Flavor is smooth and malty with a solid pumpkin overtone and spicy hints, so it is almost like drinking a liquid pumpkin pie. Perfect for the holidays.

bottled. This beer pours almost ruby-autumn (browish-orange). Small tan? head. Smells great! It really is pumpkin pie; pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, & other spices. The taste is up that same alley, a very Autumn beer and def. one of my favorites out of N.C. There’s also a great butter-malt thing going on too. Thou this beer has its occasions, and sometime it’s only good 1 a nite... I’ve yet to have a pun’kin ale that can compare!

If you like your spiced / flavored beers to hit you over the head as opposed to having "subtle hints of flaovr" (as I do), you will like this one. Smells and tastes like pumpkin pie. I only wish I had more than a six pack in my basement to tide me over to this fall.

Aroma is nice, smells like pumpkin bread, with some nutmeg sprinkled on top. Flavor is cloves and pumpkiny, sweet and delicious. Relatively thing bodied. Some people hate on this and claim it’s too pumpkiny, but I’m kind of sick of beers where you have to try to notice the pumpkin. A nice seasonal beer, worth buying when you’re digging the fall. Probably my favorite pumpkin beer.

UPDATED: SEP 20, 2009 12 oz, bottled J (July?) 07. Hazy, strong iced-tea colored, with a small but creamy and enduring head. Typical pumpkin pie spice aroma with maybe a tad more nutmeg. Spices are out front in the flavor, then maybe some pumpkin and slight grain peek through in the middle, and a turn back to the spices at the finish. Seems like clove and cardamom in the nice aftertaste. Light-medium body is kinda smooth, has a bit of a spice tingle, and a slight astringency. One of the best pumpkin ales out there.
