2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Ughsmash (5631) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 30, 2006
Bottle thanks to Sumdog. Poured a clear straw yellow with a rather well-retained cap of white head. Nose was primarily of grass and yeasty notes with corn husk and faint hints of honey and other sweet malts. Corn stole the show in the flavor, but was strangely pleasant... graininess and grassy hops filled it out. Quite lightly-bodied, but not watery. Nothing remotely exciting or offensive here. Would certainly work for a lawnmower beer.

Tasty and grain-tasting. But it’s a blonde! Hey, everyone loves a blonde. Beer. Right. Charlotte airport, over a burger between flights. Lovely beer, bounces off the mouth, but oddly, probably not a session beer.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 muzzlehatch (4425) - Burlington, Vermont, USA - MAY 1, 2006
Draught pint at Fiddler’s Crab restaurant in Savannah, GA. Clear gold with just a touch of diminishing head....faint buttery-grassy aroma, not really diacetyl heavy butter but more like real butterscotch-toffee-caramel, reasonably fresh and light but rather dull....body is quite grainy, moderately sweet with touches of honey and corn sugar and very light grassy hop hints towards the finish....traces of nutmeg and eggnog as it warms further. Not too bad but wholly unmemorable.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 DarkElf (2938) - La Jolla, California, USA - APR 29, 2006
(12 oz bottle: Obtained 25-Mar-06 in trade with Jonathan3584, thanks Jonathan!) There’s not a whole lot of flavor or body to this beer, but it’s dominated by the flavor of cooked corn husks. Very grainy, lightly sweet, minimally bitter, it’s just corn husks to me. I’m not particularly offended by the actual flavor, I just want something else. And better body too. This is light-bodied, kinda thin, but pretty easy on the palate. Hazy, dark straw colored body is topped by an initially-tall, white head that settles to a wide ring, but leaves no lacing on the glass. This really is a throw-away beer to me, toss it in the cooler and hope people at the barbeque drink it all up so you have none left to deal with. Not offensive per se, but not something I’d ever want to drink again. And oh yeah, having lived in North Carolina for five years and experienced the feminine beauties, screw the damn lighthouse, I’m disappointed there isn’t a beautiful Carolina Blonde on the label!
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 walter (359) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - APR 21, 2006
Bottle. Bright yellow with white head that fades quickly, and lots of rising carbonation. Not much nose-- some light grainy malt and faint grassy hops present. Pleasant carbonation makes for a creamy, medium-light body with a nice fresh grain flavor and clean, slightly sweet finish. Really not bad at all, refreshing on a humid day.
2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 peter (445) - Normal, Illinois, USA - APR 5, 2006
Rising carbonation fills a soapy head with large bubbles. Nose is sour milk and corn. Watery mouth, no bitterness. Flavour is corn and mild citrus.

Blah. Only slightly more flavorful than water. Looked good but lacked taste.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Holdwine (1000) - Beertimore, Maryland, USA - MAR 1, 2006
Light and watery. Only "different" choice at a Marriott bar. Should have gone with a Boston Lager. Some maltiness is there, but the hops are missing.
