Originally reviewed: 7/24/08. [This is the old pre-Foothills-takeover version]. Pours a murky golden color with a very small head. I poured this the same as I always do, and I got nothin’. Smells of sweet honey, fruit, and buttery biscuits. Some floral. Taste is clean and crisp. Very light-bodied. Not a ton of flavor going on, maybe some slight biscuity malt. Very smooth and well-balanced. Extremely easy to consume. This beer is not complex at all. Though it is very refreshing and pairs well with bbq or just after mowing the lawn.

On draught Feb 2005 at Barleys, Knoxville. Rich, bright orange-gold body with a small white head, not completely filtered looking. Aroma of grass, herbs, hay and grains. Flavor is lightly sweet, with a big dose of straight up pale malt. Some light pils malt sweetness as well, with a muted hops finish. Very good texture, not sharp and bubbly, but smooth, drinkable and only moderately carbonated. Medium-light body.

Bottle at B of A stadium watching the USF vs. Clemson Meineke Bowl. Light gold body, no head. Mild flavor with some grassy notes. Better than most of the other choices there.

One of the best pilsners i've ever had. Definitly can taste some hops. Probably best $5 sixer i've bought.

From notes 5/17/03: Poured a somewhat hazy straw yellow with a moderate fluffy white head. Excellent lacing. Little aroma, mainly a little malt and a fairly obscure fruitish scent. Pear? Apple? The taste is not "pilsneresque", but definitely more golden ale. (I know the bottles claim a pilsner quality, but it’s just not so) A grainy feel. No crisp pilsner bite, but a subtle soft blonde ale ending.

Decent color. Fresh, clean beer with a malty hoppy taste. Great "outdoor" beer. Try it several times, it grows on you.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Appearance: It has a pale straw yellow color with good clarity and visible carbonation. The head is thin, bright white and foamy. It quickly fades leaving little to no lace behind. Smell: The aroma is mild and has hints of light malty grains and husky notes. Taste/Mouth feel: The flavor is simple crisp and clean. Light malty grains give it a slightly sweet character with a touch of citrus and leafy/herbal hops. Its light body, fairly thin texture and crisp finish make it easy to drink. Notes: Overall it’s an easy drinking beer with a good clean favor but it’s not a stand out.

Had this on tap at a bar near lake Norman, NC. Tastes of light fruit, a little bit or orange bite with a smooth aftertaste. A really enjoyable beer, could down a few of these and still want more.

Tall slim can courtesy of durhambeer. Looks like a Red Bull can. Pours a hazy gold with a generous white head. Smells of citrus, some dry malt. Tastes of citrus with a dry malty finish.
