COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Originally, this intensely hopped ale was brewed in the 18th century to survive the long sea journey from the cooler breweries in England, around the Cape of Africa to India where the temperatures were too warm to brew. This beer has a unique floral aroma from the generous addition of Cascade hops to the fermenter in a procedure known as dry hopping.

12 oz. can. Lightly hazy burnt orange with a lasting film of bubbles. Aroma is orange, pineapple, wooden hops, toast and some sticky pine resin. Tastes of caramel, resin, orange, melon and toast with a finish that has some touches of woody pith and green minty herb. Light-medium body has a nice balance and a refreshingly smooth, low-medium carbonation level. Pretty good sessioner that’s just different enough from most standard AIPAs to be interesting.

Bottle pour of a light copper hazy brown with a nice off white head. Aroma of sweet caramel and light earthy floral hops. Taste of big piney earthy hops with smooth caramel toffee taste. Med to light body with mild carbonation that plays off the bite of the hops with a long lingering bitter finish. Overall a solid beer that stays true to it's style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft, pours a darker golden amber color, thin lacing. Floral and pine dominate the aroma. Medium body, light sweetness up front and medium dry bitter finish. This was a pretty good IPA but doesn’t stand out.

On tap at the Distillery. Pours a clear orange-amber with a thick white head. Aroma of light fruits, floral hops, earthy hops. Flavor of light fruits up front, floral/soapy hops, bitter grassy hops in the finish. Slightly harsh palate. A light, fruity IPA, overall pretty good. 7/4/7/3/14 (3.5/5)

Sampled from a 12 oz can this beer poured a cloudy orange-amber color with small floaters and a large creamy-foamy orange-white head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was sweet and tangy with vague fruity hops, plum and a bit of citrus. The flavor was tangy and bitter with notes of honey, bread, vague fruits and citrus. Medium length bitter and fruity finish. Medium body. Ok.

Can shared at the Scopey 5K tasting. Picked up at the Good Bottle Co. in Charlotte, NC. Pours clear gold with a white cream head. Bready nose with bits of ripe orange. Medium sweet flavor with further bready malts, light dried orange, perhaps some leaves and pine. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Light rindy orange bitterness to finish, dry bread, pine needles. OK.
