3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Pastor (700) - Eliot, USA - FEB 20, 2010
Growler poured into a Portsmouth tulip glass produced a two finger white head that faded fast to nothing on top of an amber colored brew.
The brew was a little sweat in the nose with the yeast coming out as the dominate characteristic. There was a light hop note present as well but not as pronounced as most IPA’s. The flavor followed the nose; it was mostly sweet malts with a light hop bitter in the finish. It had a medium feel to it with good carbonation for coming out of a growler.
The brew drank real well I sessioned the growler myself through out the course of a night. I enjoyed every drop and it went well with all the appetizers’ available. If I was at the brewery I would gladly do the same

1/2 gallon growler from a tulip. Pours a dark brownish amber color with a small tan head and some sediment. Aroma is a nice mix of some strong malts and a citrusy hop profile. Taste has a good complex malt backbone which has caramel and darker malts. Hops are mostly citrusy, but not overpowering. Nice beer!

Tap @ Doubletree - Durham, NC: Cloudy, unclear copper color with no head. Aroma of mild hops and eggs. The flavor is weak for an IPA. Hairspray and way to malty for an IPA especially in the aftertaste. Ok, but nothing special.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 bjt512 (292) - Athens, Georgia, USA - APR 26, 2011
Poured on tap into a shaker at the Mediterranean Cafe in Chapel Hill, NC. Pale yellow orange beneath a one-finger head, this beer gave off a decent hop aroma but tasted and drank more like a nice pale ale. There’s nothing wrong with that, of course, but I don’t really look for effervescence and sessionability in an ipa the same way I would in an apa. Tasty enough, but certainly nothing special.
