COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The German celebration of Oktoberfest began in Munich in 1810 to celebrate the wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig and Princess Therese. This two week long party has become the biggest beer drinking event in the world and is still going strong. Our Oktoberfest beer is an amber-colored lager made in the traditional style with a toasty malt flavor, medium body, and a spicy hop finish.

Copper pour with small white head. Hint of caramel and malts in aroma, flavor was heavier in malts and less in caramel, and somewhat metallic. Decent but not the best version of this style.

Thanks to Thomas for the bottle! Clear copper pour with a fizzy off white head. Caramel and toasted malts on the nose. Flavor follows suite. Notable hints of hops & nuts

Draught pint at the brewery. Poured a typical orange amber with a pretty nice sized white head. Nose is almost non-existant, some toasted malts. Flavor is malty but like 1964 says, not too sweet which is a plus. I enjoyed this much more than I expected to.

From notes 9/10/03: Pours a somewhat clear golden copper. Not quite red, not quite golden. Robust off-white head formed then disappeared to just a thin film. Subtle aromas of malt and possibly toffee or caramel. A little nutty scent as well. The taste was clean. Nothing too sweet or syrupy here. A slightly malty nutty taste that went down smoothly. An average mouthfeel as this didn’t have a lot of oomph to it. Drinkability is very good as this was a refreshing beer.

Allright. A pretty mediocre, middle of the road Okto. Not badly balanced though.

On tap at the brewery. Typical octoberfest color, thin head. Had a faint sweet malty aroma. NIce flavor but had an odd earthy taste probably atributed to the hops. Medium to light bodied with the right amount of sweetness for a Marzen. Enjoyable beer but not nearly as good as its German counterparts.

Draught at the brewpub in Chapel Hill. Clear copper color with a thin white head. Slightly malty aroma. Nice grainy flavor, especially the aftertaste. There is also a hint of hop flavor without any appreciable hop bitterness.
