For those desiring a lighter beer that still has hand-crafted integrity, this beer is a German style Kolsch ale made famous in its namesake city of Cologne (Koln in German). This thirst-quenching summer brew is spritzy, not too malty, with all the pleasing aroma of German Hallertauer hops. While fermented warm like all ales, Kolsch beer undergoes a cold aging period like a lager which results in a brew that is complex yet easy to drink.

This is an ok ale but not my type of brew. Kind of grassy wheat is the taste. Easy drinking smooth beach ale maybe.

Can. Pours a light golden color, small head and spots of lacing. Mild aroma fruit, bit of citrus, fresh grain and hint of malt. Light taste of fruit, malt sweetness and fresh grain. Mild bitterness and a clean finish. Light body, smooth and refreshing. Good summer beer.

Can sampled at Classic City Brew Fest 2014. Pours a clear yellow with bubbly white head and good carbonation. Aroma and taste are light biscuit with a hint of grassy hops and crisp yeast esters. Not bad, easy to have a few I imagine.

Eng hopfiger Antrunk, stärker ist die leichte Bitterkeit. Trocken getreidig, süffig, recht langweilig - Kölsch eben. 9/9/10/8/7/8

12 ounce can - $1.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Light yellow-hued body, lightly hazed, it barely manages to scare up a half-inch, loose, white head that sputters out in a flash.

Smell: Dried herb, lemon peel with an edge of sweetness to it, and the perfunctory pils.

Taste: Pils malts, faintly bready, a bit of cereal sweetness and a pop of citrusy lemon juice. Light Continental hop character, scantly grassy with a relatively low bitterness. Predominately lemony on the backhalf and into the near-quite-crisp finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Just a smidge over medium carbonation.

Overall: Merely satisfactory; it’s not stellar, but fine and refreshing.

Comes out of the can a clear straw yellow with a white head that quickly takes its leave. Malty aroma has a yeasty undertone. Flavor is typical for a kolsch: malty, a little yeasty, a little fruity, a hint of hops. Smooth flavor is fairly firm and somewhat fizzy. Overall, if not great, definitely refreshing on a hot, steamy day.

Pale golden beer with a fizzy white head. Nose of crackers and lemon. Easy drinking beer with nice malty sweetness and lots of lemon cookie flavor. Some yeasty dough. Okay summer beer.

16 oz draft pours golden with a white head. Aroma and taste malty, bread and a hint of citrus. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
