Libeerian (208), Garner, North Carolina, USA Apr 22, 2006 Clear solid brown color, tan head. Pleasant caramel malt aroma. Flavor basically sweet & malty but there’s a harshness that should mellow w/ aging. Hope so, I bought a case! A little disappointing from the CBC guys. General_Gao (2579), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Feb 9, 2006 Draught at 42nd Street Oyster Bar in Raleigh, NC. This is the Groundhog’s Day brew for 2006. Clear dark brown color with bubbly tan head. Aroma is dominated by sweet chocolate with some plum and raisin. Chocolate comes out again in the flavor along with caramel and cereal grain. Slightly sweet up front with a smooth finish. Nice beer, but not like any other bock I’ve ever tasted. wilkie (1092), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Jan 29, 2006 Draught. WHite head, brown-red appearance. Aroma is mild caramel. Flavor is simply lacking. No uumph. Not enough alcohol to justify the means to brew this one. Grainy flavor, tastes like bread, and has a lot of caramel, but not true to style. Disappointing from a fan of this brewery.
