a beer i'd drink everyday. brewed about 7.5 miles from my house, i was surprised that a beer from my backyard would be so good. i prefer it to newcastle, it has a definite nutty taste, and a fisnish that almost reminds me of chocolate.

Draft- As far as I’m concerned this one rates up there with the best of the brown ales that I’ve tried. I am somewhat biased since this is my favorite beer style but this beer overshadowed anything else that I sampled on this beer tasting outing. Keep up the good work guys!
4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 wilkie (1209) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - JUL 9, 2002
Nice full flavor. A little bit sweet but not too sweet. Not bitter. The best part though is
that there are free brew tours every Sat. Not quite as good as
Moose Drool, but nothing is.

Pours a nice dark brown with a solid head and good lacing. Definitely has a very nutty aroma and taste to it with a little bit of biscuit in there as well. A very solid beer. This is a local brew for me and is readily available which I am happy about as this has become one of the standard selections in my beer fridge.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Braudog (4606) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - MAY 4, 2007
Bottle dated 4/4/07 purchased at the brewery. Nice mahogoney brown color and fully laced head. Nice roasted caramel aroma; wow, this has a nice woody, nutty, earthy flavor ... this makes me want to go camping. (#2838, 5/4/2007)
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 brownaler (378) - Topsail Beach, North Carolina, USA - AUG 26, 2003
UPDATED: SEP 7, 2004 Peanuts are the aroma that dominate in this beer, and you can taste them too. In fact, nuts are the dominat flavor in this beer. Tastes a little too thin though.
Have to rerate this one. This is an excellent session brown ale that packs in a lot of flavor without sacrificing its drinkability.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 EtownEraser (63) - New Jersey, USA - JUL 12, 2004

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Cybercat (1904) - Georgia, USA - DEC 29, 2011
Strong, malty aroma has a firm overtone of molasses and hints of brown sugar, caramel and chocolate. It pours a lovely clear cola brown with a typical pale tan head that leaves minimal lacing. Flavor is crisp and malty with a molasses undertone and hints of chocolate and burnt wood. Smooth texture has average body and fizziness, but is still pleasing.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 ChainGangGuy (3835) - Canton, Georgia, USA - FEB 9, 2008
Appearance: Pours a light hazy, brown body with a small, wispy white head.
Smell: Semi-sweet chocolate and roasted nuts with a handful of spruce twigs and spice.
Taste: Chocolatey, with a taste of burnt nuts, a dash of mocha, and a muted sweetness - like a Nutella-based beer. Hops tasting of spruce with a medium bitterness. Spicy, drying finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation that pricks the tongue at times and enhances that spicy finish.
Drinkability: Loads of character for a humble brown ale.
