The Oktoberfest Lager is a smooth, amber lager with caramel and toffee malt flavors, noble hop flavors and a slight warming sensation from the higher than average alcohol content. Available in the Fall.

12 oz. bottle. Pours clear, dark copper, with a small, bubbly, tan head. Big, malty aromas of caramel, peat, and honey. Some hopping - I get some light saaz earthiness and a little pine. Sweet flavor, with some nice, mellow spice and light bitterness. Medium body, smooth, and a little acidic. Overall, this is a reasonably nice amber lager. It doesn’t really hit the high points of a good marzen in my opinion, but it’s a pretty good beer.

Clear amber/copper pour. Flavor is sweet, lightly metallic, slight hop presence, a tad medicinal.

Pours mostly clear copper amber. With a frothy off-white head that settles to a fair coating for awhile and then a ring. Not much lacing. Aroma is a bit of skunky bread. Taste is more astringent than expected out of a 'fest. Some sweet caramel malt that is buried by earthy noble hop bitterness, but very little flavor on the front of the palate. There is some nice nuttiness towards the finish. Mild carbonation and quite dry. I think Carolina Pale Ale is a very nice local (Raleigh) session brew, but even for a fan of Oktoberfest beers, this is just mediocre. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draught. Poured a darker amber color with a slight head. Was one of the best Oktoberfests I’ve had - probably my favorite of the style. Nice and malty with a little bit of bitterness to it. Very biting feel to it which was really appealing.

Draft at Flying Saucer Raleigh. Pours a deep amber/copper wit white head. Nose is toast and biscuits, mild herbal noble hop aromas. On taste, more of the bready toast notes. Minimal hopping. Decent Oktoberfest.

On tap at the brewery - pours an amber color with a frothy tan head. Aroma of malt, toffee, hops, and caramel. Solid balanced malty taste with toffee, caramel and a sweet finish. Nice Oktoberfest from a solid local brewer.

Pours a copper orange with a one finger frothy pale yellow. The aroma is light and malty, has a mild sweetness, crisp dry bitterness, lagered, earthy.

Draft. Golden color, fizzy head, big soda-like bubbles visible within the beer. Sweet smelling lager with caramel notes. Tasty and sweet. I get a bit of honey, especially in the aftertaste. Even a hint of peppery spice.

On draft. Deep amber, modest head, and faintly malty aroma. Lightly hopped (floral) and quite drinkable, this one is fine but leaves little impression.

Exceptional on draught, very smooth and sweet initially with a comparable aftertaste to the Spaten oktoberfest
