This amber colored beer is our interpretation of the classic British Pale Ale originating in Burton-Upon-Trent, England. Three varieties of American grown hops create a pleasing bitterness, aroma and lingering hop taste. Our Pale Aleís medium-light body and clean taste make it an excellent accompaniment to a fine meal or a satisfying drink all by itself.

UPDATED: NOV 25, 2011 Bottle. The pour was a cloudy amber with a thin (less than 1 finger) white foamy head that was fully diminishing and had fair lacing. The aroma was moderately heavy of citrus hops, a light crystal malt and a skunky yeast with hints of caramel and grapefruit. The taste was mildly bitter and lightly malty sweet with a note of caramel from the onset then became a tad more on the bitter side with a nice strong citrus (grapefruit) overtone at the end. The flavor lasted an average amount of time allowing for the bitter taste of the hops to linger. The mouthfeel was light to medium in body with a dry texture and a mild carbonation. Overall a bold and tasty Pale Ale that offered just the right amount of bitterness that did not totally overtake the nice mild sweet malty undertone.

Bottle, thanks Christina! Malty straw aroma with slight hints of floral and citrus hops and a bit of bread. Pours opaque golden colored with a thin white head with decent retention and lacing. Starts with a lot of straw and bready malt flavors. Finishes dry with slight citrus hop flavors and a bit of floral at the very end. Not bad, but pretty a standard pale.

Bottle at Mama Dips in Chapel Hill. Clear straw body. Similar to a standard macro beer. Slightly hoppy grassy aroma. OK taste. Slightly bitter. Grassy lemon flavor.

Draft. Light Amber color. Low carbonation. Little aroma. Flavor is short, and a little light. Middle of the road beer. Not bad, but wouldnít go out of my way for it.

From bottle. Pours a golden clear with white head that disappeared. Mostly earth malt and spicy hop and a little cardboard in the aroma. Taste was thin and dry. May have been an old bottle.

Clear gold with white head. Faint musty aroma. Watery feel with a mild citrus taste overbalanced with bitterness. Not overly bitter, just overbalanced bitter.

12 oz bottle - a bit of a sour aroma. Tastes a bit like grapes. This isnít a bad beer, and I did drink several of them. It is just an average pale ale.

12 oz bottle. This was tasted at the Provisions Company in Holden Beach, NC. The pale ale poured a light yellow with a small head that stayed with the ale. There was a nice bitterness from start to finish. The ale could have more body. There was average carbonation. The finish was smooth with a sublte bitterness at the end.

Meh. Itís a standard pale ale. Nothing all that interesting about it, other than that itís from a local brewery. Eh.

Gift from SJ. This one had a hint of hop, citrus, caramel malt and bread. A tad thin in the body. Easy to drink.
