COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A golden refreshing beer which represents the classic Mexican Lager tradition.

12 ounce bottle. The only interesting thing with this beer is it used to have a bottle opener in the bottom of the bottle.

Bottle. Pours pale yellow with a small, fizzy white head, completely diminishing, no lacing. Aroma is average malt (grain), light hops (grass), average yeast (sweat) with notes of corn and potato. Light bodied, thin texture, average carbonation and a metallic finish. Short duration, light sweetness, acidity and bitterness.

Bottle from Party Source. Poured clear pale color with an average frothy white head that diminished slowly with fair lacing. Moderate sweet grainy aroma. Light body with a thin texture and soft carbonation. Light sweet flavor with soft sweet finish of short duration. Worth trying once.

Carta Blanca (caguama) might be a little on the darker, heavier side than most Mexican pale lagers, but it really seems like the Mexican equivalent of Busch (although a bit less offensive). The smell is really really ripe and grassy; the taste is grain, sourness, and sweet rice/corn adjunct somethinorother. Ultimately, Carta Blanca is just another super-cheap, not-to-terrible option at the corner store.

This may be my first CB since standing on the streets of Tijuana at age 18 (long ago). My recollection is that it seemed a bit peachy. The aroma is standard grass and light corn. The color is brassy gold, and the white head quickly flattened. The body approaches medium, the carbonation is near creamy, and there is enough suggestion of fruity sweetness to explain why an American lager lad thought it was peachy. Not saying it is fruity, just that there is so much flavor that a young, confused, palate could imagine such. One of the better lagers I’ve had from the South. Travis McGee drank it. That’s a good recommendation.

this is a fairly refreshing Mexican yellow beer if you douse it with some lime juice... otherwise, dont bother

I guess I am starting to understand Mexican beers. Their water is not potable, so they make beer instead. And the beers they make are so weak in taste and body that it’s like drinking water, only with a little alcohol in there too!

Typical Mexican Lager; tasteless, odorless and, colorless. The only positive thing about this beer is that it contains alcohol.
