12 oz bottle, at a chain Mexican restaurant in Rockford, IL. Very pale, corn aroma, some head retention; very sweet to the tongue, weak and light, but not stale and quite drinkable.

Bottle at El Paso Mexican Restaurant. It’s pretty bad when I think, "Wow, I should’ve just gone with the Miller Lite." Mexican beer isn’t usually that great, but this one is one of the crappier I’ve tasted. Everything - color, scent, taste, palate, etc. - was just faint. Weakness in a bottle. I’ll stick with Modelo or even Pacifico next time I go to this restaurant.

Had two cold bottles of this at a border town across from Big Bend National park along with a big plate of tacos. In January the temperature was in the 80s and the first drink was heavenly. The rest was pretty good. It might have had a head, but it was inside the bottle and didn’t last very long because I drank it, too. I was too busy wrapping my lips around the bottle to stick my nose in it to give it a smell but I do recall smelling beer so it gets a 7.

Pours a pale gold with a thin, bright white head that has decent retention. Aroma is corn, toast, cereal, a little sour grain and ground plant matter. Flavor is feed corn, sour grain (like the smell of silage), metal, salt and musty grass. Palate is light bodied dry, but slick throughout and has a moderate strength, sharp carbonation. Has a sort of metallic astringency to the finish. Not good.

Bottle. Clear light gold pour, small soapy white head. Doesn’t come off as skunky, but I do get some cardboard in the aroma. Other than that - typical pale grainy lager.

From the 12oz bottle at El Campesino on McKnight Road in Pittsburgh. Almost no detectable aroma, very light taste and thin body. Not bad with Mexican cuisine and won’t fill you up after too many refried beans.

Dark yellow beer that smells like straw, grains and earth. Overly sweet with a flush finish and no detectable hops. Light body - thoroughly insubstantial.
