COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like a trainwreck in your mouth, this beer is bursting with flavor: biscuity malts colliding with colossal amounts of American hops to create our version of the classic palate bruiser. Dry hopped with Simcoe and Palisade hops for the classic Northwest style hop nose.

Very intense, flavorful hops in this beer. It smells like wild prairie and flowers. Bitter hop flavor, and light malt. It isn’t very balanced, and is all about the intense hops, and that is OK. One of the best IPAs I have had in a long time. Diry brown color. Thanks to Skyview for sharing.

Draft: Dark orange/copper pour with a fluffy beige head. Fruity hops up front with a little pine. Another big hop impact in the taste with more citrus and tropical fruits taking over. Piney and earthy/bready malts to finish. Thick and chewy. Solid.

UPDATED: AUG 5, 2011 Tap at Piggyback BBQ, Whitefish. Hazy golden/honey with good thick white head. Fresh, floral, pine/grapefruit hops, light roasted rich caramel malt flavor. Very fresh tasting well made IPA. pushing full bodied without being the least bit heavy. Balanced, but with a huge hop driven flavor and bitterness kick. I’m jumping on this again any chance I get.

intensely fruit / sugared nose of pineapple, mango and dank orange bud. medium body, medium acid, juicy and sugary with a crystalline mango, peach and pineapple flavor. clean malt gives the body superb support ( light but firm ) while hop flavor drives this IPA - it’s definitely a c-note hop bomb but benefits from low resin. 2 for 2, montana.

NABA 08’: Pours a copper color with a light puffy white head. The nose is citrusy and piney with a ripe floral hoppiness and lots of simcoe-y notes. Decent malt base too with a semi-sweet caramel and juniper note. The finish is a little thick and sweet. Excellent nose and a decent flavor. I love the hops in this one.

Hazy copper color with white head. Nose of grapefruit, grass and pine. Flavor is huge on the hops, mainly simcoe, that are somewhat balanced with a light sweetness from the malt. Very nice ultra hoppy finish.

Growler from Skyview. Very murky, muddled orange color with a thin head. Seriously strong hop aroma with grapefruit and tangerines dominating. The taste really doesn’t change much. Tangerine is the standout. Finishes a little grassy.

Another growler courtesy of Skyview. A very murky toffee color with a dirty white head. The aroma was of pine and grass clippings. Flavor of a variety of hops with a lot of grapefruit and a bit of grassy flavor as well. This is a great beer.

One of their four three house beers, this is available on draught in the brewery’s taproom of Billings, Montana. Pours a hazy caramel amber brew with a decent off-white head that has some excellent lacing and foamy top retention. Aroma of light multi-grain biscuits, and an over the top grapefruit and tangerine zest. Taste is medium bodied, very light carbonation, slightly smooth yet dry malty texture with some sweet citrusy hops to curl your tongue on any given day. Finish has a lingering piney bitterness along with an unique tangerine zest flavor. Of rating beers on and off during the past year, Carter’s De-Railed IPA has to be one of the best West Coast Caliper IPA ales to come out of Montana.
