COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like all things truly Jersey, 077XX makes the most in balancing through its accentuation of extremes. Inspired by the west coast IPAs we love, we added a thump of hops to a dynamic malt profile and chose a yeast to drive these two further than they wanted to go. Throw our water into this mix and you will find dank green resinous hops popping over orange, mango and papaya aromas, with just enough sweetness of body to make the long finish a pleasure to have around. A double IPA perfect for adding fuel to the fire of a dinner, a game, or an idea, drink it when your night matters.

UPDATED: JUL 18, 2014 7/18/14: This desperately needs a full re-rate. In the meantime, moving the score to where it should be...

Location: Draft at Cork City, 4/12/13

Aroma: The nose is clean hops, pine, some hops, but a little disappointing
Appearance: It has a clear orange pour with a small head and some spotty lace
Flavor: The taste is light sweet and medium bitter, thereís some resin flavor that comes though
Palate: This one is medium bodied, it has average carbonation, and a dry finish
Overall Impression: Itís decent, but certainly not spectacular. I wanted a great DIPA, and I got an okay one. I just had higher expectations from a Carton DIPA considering how spectacularly they handled the hop profile of Boat Beer.

On tap at The Brass Rail, Hoboken. Poured into a shaker pint :( (sad glassware). Very cloudy apricot colored pour with a nice foamy white head. Excellent lacing. Poured pretty cold so let it warm some before nosing and tasting. Nose is citrusy fruity hops. Flavor is fairly hoppy without being overwhelmingly so. Lots of tropical fruit notes to this one. A decent malt backbone. A little on the sweet side up front, the finish is pleasingly dry. Notch up another from a new-to-me brewery. Pretty nice offering. ---Rated via Beer Buddy from my iPad.

From tap. Citrus aroma. Clear light orange pour. The bitter bite of hop is too much and unbalanced. Hop flavor is also not well defined.

UPDATED: SEP 8, 2013 So happy to finally re-rate this! Draft. Pours slightly hazy gold with a thin white head. Aroma is lots of tropical fruit. Taste is pineapple, mango, fresh cut grass and a citrusy finish. Palate is medium with a strong carb and slightly dry finish. This is delicious. Iím so glad Iíve finally drank this fresh.

Clear golden with a white head. Aroma is fruity, tropical, a bit of malt sweetness. Medium body. Flavor is mostly run by the fruity and floral hops, caramel malt sweetness, tropical fruits. FInish is bitter and lengthy. Nice DIPA.

Solid pine-citrus aroma, flavor of mango and apricot hints balance piney bitterness. Not my top choice for a double IPA but a very enjoyable brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Itís easier to point out the flaws here than sing the praises. The hop profile simply isnít interesting. There is a great deal of flavor here and it is well balanced but itís just ordinary.
