Like all things truly Jersey, 077XX makes the most in balancing through its accentuation of extremes. Inspired by the west coast IPAs we love, we added a thump of hops to a dynamic malt profile and chose a yeast to drive these two further than they wanted to go. Throw our water into this mix and you will find dank green resinous hops popping over orange, mango and papaya aromas, with just enough sweetness of body to make the long finish a pleasure to have around. A double IPA perfect for adding fuel to the fire of a dinner, a game, or an idea, drink it when your night matters.

sample from can. Pours clear yellow to dark yellow, clean crisp white head. Nose is cheesy side of exotic hops, resinous perhaps, but cheese leads the dance. Then body is a bit watery, loads of resinous hop bitters pulling everything dry towards the end. Interesting. Taste is grassy and resin, would have loved a bit more of malty sweetness.

Pours a filtered, golden-orange color, with a big, fluffy white head. On the nose, the beer reveals a great mix of dank grass and juicy exotic fruits, blending perfectly together. Lime pulp is the most dominant hop allegory in this, gently coated up by kiwi and fresh cut orange. This creates a fantastic hop profile on the nose, evoking the thought of visiting a fruit booth, while getting slightly overwhelmed by its aromas, when entering the store. Its lemon qualities do a big part of creating such an intriguing nose, partly because of its pure fresh- and juicyness, partly by the crackery malts, which lend even more depth to them. Drinks very creamy, although it has a lively carbonation to it, which gets recognizable during the beers finish, adding a mineral quality to the juicy hops. This creates a very pleasant mouthfeel, while hops and malts wrestle for supremacy. Tastes of dough white bread malts, which soften the immediate lime impact by adding a smooth tone to it. Limes turn juicier, more crisp and more bitter though, evolving to a pleasantly fresh hop explosion on the palate, toned down immediately by cakey malts. After that initial hop burst, malts take over directly after the swallow, weaving a shielding bubble over the tongue, by introducing calming toffee and biscuit. This great blend has to make way for an even grassier, lime dipped hop assault, resulting in a slightly mineralic, fruity and bitter aftertaste. I am blown away by the greatness of this beer. It appears to be very focussed, almost minimalistic, while being extremely well balanced, and perpetually evolving. The changing flavors of the beer divide themselves into separate stages, utmost clean, versatile and different. Mouthfeel is the cherry on top, crowning the beer by exhibiting a perfectly smooth drinking experience.

Pours a clear amber orange with a small head. Smell is resinous, orange, tropical fruit. Taste is bitter citrus and stone fruit followed by sweet bread.

CAN, thanks to Mathieu87. APPEARANCE: clear blond beer, nice stable white head. NOSE: lots of pine, amarillo like, fruity, mango. TASTE: rather dry, keeps on coming, fruity aftertaste, lytchee, bitterness keeps on kicking in! Very nice beer, bit too bitter for me maybe.

can offering recently picked up at the source, a tiny operation they have, soon to expand to bigger digs, pours a solid light medium orange hue with a small white head..few hop particles towards the end of the can..like it..nose is described on can as orange, mango, and papaya..i am getting the mango for sure and also hop goodness..nice nose all around..mouthfeel is super smooth but packed with hop flavor that is not overly bitter..touch of sweetness for sure..coats the mouth with hop oil..grassy floral hop profile.doesn’t feel like 7.8%..really enjoyable canned DIPA..solid lacing all around..like the tall can..everything about this screams solid representation of a DIPA..worth seeking out for sure...

DATE TASTED: August 7, 2015 ... GLASSWARE: HopDevil nonick... OCCASION: prepping for birthday number 39 with Matt, Jer and Sharknado 3... APPEARANCE: from fresh growler: light golden body with slight effervescence; nice head retention of an off-white single-finger ring; reasonable smears of tracings; strong head retention... AROMA: a beautiful collaboration of pineapple, mango and orange peel with the resin and pinecone necessary to enrapture the senses; the balance of malt and hop is appreciable; the balance comes with a bit of caramel and wet malts... PALATE: strong carbonation livens the mouth, with a medium-bodied, reasonable finish--easy drinking and sessionable... TASTE: a powerful yet drinkable 7.8% ABV; the citrus is strong and tangible; a strong, flavorful pint... OVERALL: pleased to have Carton in our backyard--and more pleased that this Imperial truly drinks like a pale ale; full-bodied and rewarding; active and filling...

Received in a trade from dmac; Can poured into an English Pint glass -- Golden orange in color with great sweet hop aromatics. Flavor was solid clean malt that was just filled with hops. A little sweet and a little citrusy. Very bubbly from lots of carbonation helped disperse all the flavors well.

Nice grapefruit aroma. Flavor is a little less exciting. Still really citrusy but the bitterness gets in the way. Malt does some balancing. Very clear golden color with a nice white cap. Body is a little light.

Big can at home - extra in a trade. Pour is hazy lemon peel with a big white head and sticky lacing. Grassy, husky, straw, lemony, light citrus notes and oranges in the aroma. Taste is grassy, lemony, orange peels, some grapefruit, marmalade, light bread, crackers, and straw with a big bitter finish. Medium body with high cabronation. Nice DIPA without being over-the-top - highly chuggable.
