UPDATED: JAN 31, 2012 Draught at the brewery. Poured a murky light chocolate brown with an average sized slightly foamy light beige head. Aroma is dark toast, light hint of coffee, slight touch of chocolate, roasted malts.The body had good carbonation over a medium mothfeel and a smooth finish. Flavor of dark toast, light coffee and chocolate. Aroma was slightly better then the flavor.

Growler at the Meet the TURD testing. Dark brown pour. Notes of coffee with a soft, mild nuttiness. Slightly dull, nothing finish. Goes flat.

Draught. Cloudy brownish. Some malts and hops. Not bad, nothing spectacular

2 liter bottle growler shared by maxxdaddy. Light brown/dark amber pour. Caramel, bready, nutty sweetness. bready, light roast, light bitterness. Pretty good.

Growler at the TURD tasting. Pours amber with an off white head. Toasty and sweet malty aroma. The flavor has toffee sweet malts, toasted malts, a bit of nuttiness, and low bitterness. Pretty good.

Big ol’ plastic 2 liter courtesy of Max at a tasting for Sam. Pours a lightly hazed brown with a thin white head. Toast and nutty malt on the nose. Medium bodied, coffee, roast and toast, nice and nutty. Lively carbonation. Nutty, malt, toast. Nice gentle toasty bitterness on the finish.

Plastic Growler at MaxxDaddy’s tasting. Pours light brown. Nose/taste of malt, caramel and flaked barley. Medium body.

On draft. Aroma of toasted malts. Slight haze with a sustained 3cm white head.
Malt is upfront on the palate, toasty notes come through first with some subtle dried fruit in the background, Reminds me of some English ales style wise. Light mouth feel with a dry finish.

Intriguing beer. Very hard to put a label on it. It has a very nice chocolate and coffee aroma that is surprising considering the beer is gold in color with a small white head. The flavor is lighter than the aroma with a nice bitterness, just a hint of the chocolate and coffee. Finish is dry and tasty.

On tap at Barcade Jersey City. OK for the style, but sourishness. Good lace. Chocolate malt, some spice. So-so drinkability.
