COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Boat Beer is designed to be complex enough to merit drinking a few without being crippled by alcohol. Kolsch yeast and German malts are combined to be crisp and refreshing, while a generous amount of American hops have been added to keep it remarkable. Expect it to dance out of the glass with a whack of grapefruit and open into a crisp, stony tangle of white and yellow fruit with pine and moss notes. An IPA for everyday drinking, drink boat beer when you are thirsty from softball, fishing, or explaining why your team is best.

UPDATED: SEP 8, 2012 On draft at Salt Gastropub in Byram. Unfiltered Blond Ale appearance. Tastes more like an IPA with mild but dominant hop bite with grapefruit flavors. Easy to session. Looking forward to tasting more from this brewer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Big can. Looks light. Aroma of floral and lightly citrusy hops, some dough, and pale malts. Flavor the same with a nice hoppiness. Average to lighter texture. A solid session IPA.

Smell from can is mostly lemons and some underlying maltiness and is very pleasant. Pours a surprisingly cloudy straw color. Taste is awesome, citrus fruits from the hops and a nice crispiness from the kolsch yeast. Has a bite on the back end that is less than pleasant but overall a solid representation of the style. I would gladly chug these at a summer festival or while partying on a lake.

Sampled on draft at Hou Thou this beer poured a cloudy pale yellow color with a medium sized foamy white head that left decent lacing. The aroma was dryish perfume and citrus. The flavor was dry and thin with perfume and citrus. Medium length finish. Light body - very thin. Uninspired.

On tap at HOTB. Pours a pale greenish yellow with a fluffy white head. Aroma of slight grapefruity citrus. Taste is on the bitter side like grapefruit. So very clean crisp and easy drinking.

16oz can left over from Saturday’s tasting. Thanks Team North Jersey. Pours a clear, orange amber color with a white head and a little lacing. Aroma is hoppy, citrus, orange, grapefruit. Light to medium on the palate with average carbonation. Flavor is bitter, hoppy, pine, grass, some bready malt sweetness, with a sharp, bitter pine finish. Excellent at 4.2% ABV.
