Boat Beer is designed to be complex enough to merit drinking a few without being crippled by alcohol. Kolsch yeast and German malts are combined to be crisp and refreshing, while a generous amount of American hops have been added to keep it remarkable. Expect it to dance out of the glass with a whack of grapefruit and open into a crisp, stony tangle of white and yellow fruit with pine and moss notes. An IPA for everyday drinking, drink boat beer when you are thirsty from softball, fishing, or explaining why your team is best.

UPDATED: JAN 19, 2016 On tap at P house, pours hazy golden color. Medium white head, and lacing. Aromas and taste are insanely fresh and juicy. Notes of citrus hops, caramel and german malts, lemon kolsch notes, grapefruit, vanilla, cheese funk, and lightly bitter grains. So refreshing and juicy for the low alcohol. Best beer I have had from them and easily in my top 5 session ipas over the last year. Always fresh and juicy as fuck with a beautiful super hoppy kolsch taste. "If it ainít boat, fix it" new batches are white peach pussy lager juice. Clean as fuck with just the right amount of hops and drink ability. Been my go to beer for the last few years due to consistency and self distributed freshness. Much respect.

Best Session IPA Iíve ever had. Solid hop flavor, but still light enough to make 12 a good idea

Cloudy, just darker than lemonade. Citrus nose, suggesting the great taste to come. Paradoxically, this beer is light and mouthfilling at the same time. This is a very refreshing brew, glad I stopped in at Bistro 55 for NJ Craft Beer Day!

UPDATED: AUG 11, 2016 Draft at pony/torst/Gingerman with Andrew, Dallas and Street. Pours a mighty hazy pale golden body with nice modest, white lacing. Aroma is super light funk, fresh cut grass, light vanilla and muted cream in the finish. Mouthfeel is light and super sessionable with notes of fresh, grassy hops, lemon, grapefruit, light grain and delicious fresh, citrus fruits. This is incredible, and may be the best session beer ever crafted. The juice is loose when this one is flawless - which is often.

UPDATED: SEP 7, 2014 Lightly hazy golden color with a small, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of floral hops, light pine, citrus, tropical fruits, and toasted malts. Taste of toast, citrus fruits, grass, amarillo, and grapefruit in the finish.

Shaker pint draft at Jimmyís No. 43 in New York. The pour is a hazed golden with a 1/2 inch white head that falls with splotchy lacing. The aroma is fresh crisp grain, a light citrus note, then moves to grass, hay and a really well integrated citric character. The taste is grass and hay upfront, moving quickly to a bright citric character and all on top of very crisp malt. The flavors are all crazy fresh, clean and crisp. The palate is light bodied with soft natural carbonation, and a dry crisp subdued citric finish. This beer is crazy drinkable, really an extraordinary beer. This is exactly the type of beer I am into right now.

Poured from a 16 oz. can. Appearance is a bright, yet slightly murky yellow-gold. Nose is amazing! For a session beer, this one packs a punch. Lots of citrusy lemon, orange peel and grapefruit. Taste follows. Very light malt bill provides a slight sweetness to a nice bitter finish. Does not go overboard. Could drink this stuff all summer if it was around.

Can: The aroma consists of citrus, lemon/lemon peel, light dank notes, and a touch of tropical fruits. It pours a hazy dull golden-orange with a small white head that quickly fades to a minimal film outlined by a thin ring. The flavor starts with moderate citrus, and light tropical fruits. The finish has light-moderate grapefruit and light lemon. Itís light bodied with light-moderate carbonation. Overall, this one of the best Session IPAs Iíve had.
