3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Location: Draft at Eleven Madison Park, 6/15/13, Rating #3100
Aroma: The nose is heavy malts, some dark fruit, plenty of pepper/spice, and yeast
Appearance: The pours is a dark brown color with a lighter colored brown head
Flavor: The taste is a little sweet, peppery, and heavy matly, with dark fruit, spice, and booze
Palate: The body is fairly full and it has a good amount of heat from the ABV
I found this one to be fairly tasty. its definitely a sipper, as the strength and ABV are quite noticeable, but it is a good beer none-the-less.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at The Pour House.
Appearance: Deep mahogany body with a creamy tan head.
Aroma: Aromas of nutmeg, ginger with a light malt presence. Spice heavy.
Taste: Strong spices of nutmeg, maybe cinnamon, with a malty base. Great on a winter night.
Palate: Thick and creamy.
Overall: Decent, but the spices become overwhelming. I couldn’t finish the glass.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On the pump last week at PH. Pours red tinted brown. Medium head and lacing. Notes of heavy spice, nutmeg, pepper, ashy hops, sweet candy sugar, some earthy flowers but not a whole lot. Wish the lavender was more present, lots of cumin type all spice and coriander in this brew.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hand-pumped at the Pourhouse. Aroma of typical spice: allspice, nutmeg and clove. Taste is very dry and spiced. Cinnamon and allspice shine through with a molasses finish. Very big.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Rather spicy front, great head. Sadly I’m a bit sick but the fact that the flavor shines through despite that says a lot. I will update once i taste it with an available palate

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours an attractive brown tone with a quickly diminishing white head. The nose is a peppery malt blend. Taste is in a word...exotic. The conglomeration of honey, peppercorn, & strong malt backbone hides the 12% ABV well. Another solid offering from Carton.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Growlerette from Spirits Manahawkin. Pours an attractive ruby/brown color with a small white head. Aroma is of raisin, dried fruit, light caramelized sugar, and no tell of the big ABV. Taste is sweet dried fruits, some raisin, plum, light pepper, alcohol, caramelized brown sugar, light chocolate and some bitter hops and a little more alcohol on the finish. Tasty, full bodied beer.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Proletariat prior to heading to Andy’s for New Years. Pours a hazed thick ruby amber brown with a thick white to beige head. Big and spicy on the nose, malt and cocoa. Warm alcohol peeks through early. Lots of spice, toast. Spicy and malty. Tastes a bit like spiced bread. Big and warm but never really boozy and hot. Cocoa and roast with more warm spices into the finish. Easy drinking for being so big.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft. Brown pour with tan head. Spices, floral tones and lighter aromas come off a bit sweet. Spices, malts, light candi sugars and other garbled flavors come across quickly but no alcohol hints I can see.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Glass from a growler on Christmas. Decent looking muddy brown with a smaller foamy light beige head. Aroma has some yeast upfront with notes of honey and brown sugar along with medium done toast, light spicy chocolate. Medium bodied with no sign of the 12% ABV at all, light carbonation. Flavor of wet toast and fruit, slight touch of alcohol, fruit skins, cherry, yeast. Nice stuff, good job Carton on this one.
