COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
GORP (Good old raisins & peanuts) trail mix was a combination of clean complimentary flavors appropriate for being out on the trails. With GORP beer, we evoke recollections of fun flavors of the trails by adding peanuts and chocolate to robust porter base that is then fermented on black raisins.

2014-04-19. Very dark brown-black body with a small tan head. 3++ Aroma is dry and lightly toasty. Flavour is similar, notes of dry roast with a bit of a nutty quality to it. Sweetish undercurrents. Average plus bodied palate, modest carbonation. Decent. Draft at Barcade, Brooklyn

Pours black with a medium creamy mocha head. Aroma has roasty malts and dark fruits...just a touch of nuttiness...A faint raisiny sweetness. Flavor follows suit and adds layers of char and more nuttiness that almost hints at PB. Mouthfeel is medium and silky with a roasty/nutty finish.

5 oz. sample in a flight. Pours a dark black with off-white head. Has chocolate, coffee notes on the nose. Taste is roasted coffee beans, nutty notes, and some subtle chocolate. I let the sample warm bit, which brought out the earthy, nutty flavors. You won’t notice any alcohol or bitterness. Really enjoyed this one.

Draft Molly McGuires Rumson, NJ. Basically black, maybe a shade lighter, thin mocha head. Aroma is sweet, roasted, and nutty. The taste adds a touch of coffee with raisin. The mouthfeel is rich with some chocolate elements. Low carb. Good stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft. Cola colored with a light tan head. Aroma is mostly roasted malt. Taste adds lots of peanut. Raisin doesn't become apparent until the beer really warms up and only in the aftertaste. Solid palate and carb. This is nice.

Draft at Stag’s Head. Pours almost pitch black with a brownish tint with a small tan head. Aroma is peanuts, roasted coffee, chocolate and some dark sweet fruit. Taste is slightly bitter of roasted coffee and dark chocolate with a peanut aftertaste. I felt the mouthfeel was a little thin and that with this type of flavor profile the beer could have been alot more in your face.
