COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
GORP (Good old raisins & peanuts) trail mix was a combination of clean complimentary flavors appropriate for being out on the trails. With GORP beer, we evoke recollections of fun flavors of the trails by adding peanuts and chocolate to robust porter base that is then fermented on black raisins.

UPDATED: APR 16, 2015 growler, this one was very tasty!! Rich roasty dry porter was critical to complement these sweet adjuncts without being too cloying. Delicious grapy and figgy flavors throughout. yum!

Waxed flip-top growler. Delightful aroma of roasted salty peanut, granola, brown sugar, sweet dates, and a brief hint of maple syrup. Semi-occluded muddy brown in appearance with a thick tan ring dotted with large bubbles. The taste features an odd blend of flavors with peanuts, roasted corn and cauliflower, dark chocolate, warm milk, faint nutmeg and ginger, light molasses, and a strange root beer and sugary raisin finish. Chalky texture. Not bad, but the flavors never seem to quite mesh.

Draft at bistro on bridge. Pours pitch black with a medium sized brown head that dissipates quickly. The aroma does not have a significant note of dark fruit or raisin.. A touch of nuttiness. Typical roasted malt and dark chocolate overtones. The taste is medium bitter, chocolate, light coffee.

[6270-20140419] Tap. Roasted breadcrumbs and coffee-infused burnt wood aroma. Murky, black brown body with a quick foamy tan head. More burnt wood in the flavour with roasted coffee notes. Full body. Good. (7/3/7/3/14) 3.4

2014-04-19. Very dark brown-black body with a small tan head. 3++ Aroma is dry and lightly toasty. Flavour is similar, notes of dry roast with a bit of a nutty quality to it. Sweetish undercurrents. Average plus bodied palate, modest carbonation. Decent. Draft at Barcade, Brooklyn

reggiedunlop (3414) - The dub c, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 28, 2014
Pours black with a medium creamy mocha head. Aroma has roasty malts and dark fruits...just a touch of nuttiness...A faint raisiny sweetness. Flavor follows suit and adds layers of char and more nuttiness that almost hints at PB. Mouthfeel is medium and silky with a roasty/nutty finish.
