COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
There are pumpkin based flavors that are not pumpkin pie. With this in mind we set out to make an autumnal beer in the pumpkin tradition that wasn’t simply a spiced beer using the usual pie-spice blend. Looking to enhance the pumpkin’s flavors, we roasted its meat touched with orange oil, pink peppercorns and candied ginger. We added this to the mash of our high gravity ream ale recipe. The result is a rich bodied ale, its creaminess teased by the peppercorns heat, that presents the flavors of pumpkin while notes of orange zest and a sweet ginger bite tame the vegetal dryness. Drink Pumpkin Cream Ale because there are spices on the shelf behind the nutmeg.

On tap at Cloverleaf. Not sure about the cream part. More like a hoppy amber with some pumpkin spicy. Tasty. But not what you picture when you hear pumpkin cream.

Draft. Pours golden orange, with a thin head. Light pumpkin sweetness, ginger, and some light floral hops in the finish. Decent.

On tap at the brewery. Beautiful hazy orange pour with a white head. Aroma is pumpkin, hoppy, a bit spicy but not pie-like. Flavor is ok. Creamy with a bit to much bitterness. I'm not sure if it's hops or something else? Good but mouthfeel is a little harsh.

Clean aroma, faint orange notes, but not much else in the nose. Flavor highlights a tangy hop bittnerness, spicy peppercorns, and light hints of ginger as the beer warms. Can’t taste any pumpkin, but the beer is enjoyable nonetheless.

Very little pumpkin influence here. Almost Belgiany in the richness of the golden malts. Interesting, but not quite what I was looking for. Needs more flavor for such a high ABV pumpkin beer. Bonus points for at least attempting to do something different with this style.

Growler shared on opening Sunday by my brother-in-law. Poured a hazy light orange body with a large frothy white head that left lots of lace. Aroma wasw very very slight pumpkin over dry toast. Medium to slightly full bodied that had average carbonation and finished rather dry. Flavor was odd, dry toast, roasty pumpkin meat, dry bitter hops. Not sure if I liked this or not but would drink again.

Growler at Dmac’s opening football Sunday. Pours out a moderately clear golden color with a small white head. Aroma is of creamy cereal notes, light spices, slightly reminiscent of pumpkin, but not totally. Taste is cinnamon, light creamy malts, mild hops, some brown sugar and nutmeg.

Draft at bierkraft with streets, Brendan, Ben and the NYC crew. Pours a light amber body with no head. Aroma is spice and light pumpkin pie. Mouthfeel is medium to thin with notes of spice and citrus. Awesome, drinkable pumPkin beer.

Draft. Golden orange with white head. Spices, mild citrus and pumpkin flavored brew, finishes clean. Aroma is on the lighter side, some spice and pumpkin tones.
