UPDATED: JAN 27, 2015 If beers only lived up to the hype they are given. Apparently this must be getting hyped by the beer traders just to up its trade value. Yes, it is much better then last year. No. It is not a cream ale in any way. Stylistically speaking. After that the beer is creamy do to way to much lactose being added. The problem with that is the twang that sugar gives. I works to make the mouthfeel seem more like the name suggests, but really takes away from the aspect that this is a beer. The other problem is the coffee. Not sure what was used or how it was added to the beer, but it really tastes more like day old oxidized coffee. Mostly a problem given by non de-aired water being used and an over extraction of the coffee. It is great idea for a beer. Just a couple small things needed to bring it to the top level ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Proletariat. Pours a lightly hazed gold with a thin white head. Huge coffee on the nose, some sweetness. Quite sweet initially, a but of creaminess, more coffee coming through. Sweet and a bit of booze on the finish. Lingering sweetness. Too sweet for me.

On tap at Farm/fish. Pours hazy golden with creamy 3 finger white head. This one needed to settle when poured similiar to a Guinness. Aromas and flavor are authentic coffee roast, butter cream icing, grains, and vanilla bean. The color and body of this is awesome for all the java flavor you get. Missed this one last year, glad to try it this time around. I just did a double take and realized the alcohol pct. must be a misprint , this taste like 5-6 pct. most dangerous beer I have ever tried since I started drinking crafts a good 7-8 years ago. Cheers

Bottleshare in Asheville. Amber pour with a small head. Mild roast coffee. Charred grains and milk chocolate. Chewy malts, strong caramel and burnt brown sugar accents. Coffee creamer. Medium body, soft carbonation. Quite sweet, a few ounces is more than enough.

Something of a revelation at EBF. Bright gold color...smells like creamy coffee. What is this sorcery? Great mouthfeel, good flavor, style-bending, really just a kickass beer in all regards.

From tap. Margarine color in glass. Luscious espresso nose. Creamy taste. Coffee, buttered toast. Fun juxtaposition of appearance and flavors. Breakfast by the pint. Excellent.

Surprising beer... pours a bright golden color with a big white head (I expected coffee colors). The aroma is sweet and bready with the slightest hint of coffee. On the palate the beer is exactly as advertised... like a cup of coffee with 2 half and halfs and 3 packets of sugar. Crazy beer and tasty!

on draft at EBF, I was a little apprensive to try a 12% cream ale but it actually tastes just like coffee. The alcohol is there and very strong but so is the coffee. A novelty for sure.

The highest rating I’ve given to date. What a deceptive beer! It Pours a translucent gold, but when you smell it, you’re blown away by the aromas of roasted coffee beans. The taste follows suit--sweet, creamy, coffee beans, caramel, vanilla. One of the best beers I’ve had in years.

On tap at the EBF Saturday This is an interesting beer. I usually think of coffee in a stout, but with this sweet cream ale this kind of tastes like creamed coffee.
