This has to be a different Saison than those rated by earlier reviewers. Sampled at brewery in May 2011, and also bought a growler. Definite cloves, cardamom spice, very creamy head, unfiltered. Not hoppy, but more citrus.

7/17/10 on tap as saison du mondial. rosemary in this one. dark orange color with a soft white head and lasting ring. the aroma and flavor are very odd...quite soap-like, rubbery wheat, dried herbs, flowers and caramel. it smells and tastes more like a candle or incense than beer...ick. 3/3/3/3/9/2.1

I thought that this was one of the better beers here. At least it was something different. Earthy and yeasty flavor and aroma. Similar to a Belgian. The most drinkable of the beer sampler.

Pour is hazy deep gold. Smells of smoked ham. Taste is bitter not really appropriate.

Draft at SBR. Tasted 7/11/09. Pours a thin white head over a cloudy dark goldenbody....nose is light lemon, bit of non specific spices....taste is also light lemon....light mouth feel. Fairly light and quite refreshing.
