2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
The Label, the advertisment and the limited availability might make you think this is a premium moroccan beer. It is not. Stick to the working-mans "Flag", Casablanca is basically a scam. I paid 9 Euros in a super-fancy bar in Marrakesh, and all I got was this, which is more or less a slightly maltier version of Heineken...

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
The smell is good and pleasant and rays of good hops. Slightly sweet malt transferred to a pleasant hoppy flavor with long bitterness in the final. It is certainly not a premium lager, but its origin and authenticity makes it both authentic and tasteful.

1.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Botella. Dorada muy ligeramente turbia. Aroma clásico de lager del montón. Algo de metal y mínimo cereal. En boca tiene mucho gas, un toque bajo de cereal y tirando a dulzona y acuosa. Refresca y poco más

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Dorada clara y limpia. Abundante espuma blanca bastante duradera. Aroma ligeramente citrico. En boca es bastante cremosa, suave y ligera, de escaso gas y agradable. El sabor malteado, algo aguado, y compensado con lupulo que da final seco, amargor contenido y ligeramente citrico. No esta mal, sorpresa.

2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
Moroccon standard lager, ’premium beer’ as the label says, aimed at the tourists I suppose, hence the resounding name and the palm trees above it. Brown bottle, which does elicit a certain trust, I must say. Cristal clear golden colour, a tad deeper and more orangey than usual for the style, with even tiny bits of lager yeast here and there; regular but loose, snow white head, dense on the edges. Malt sweet aroma, dry cookies, sugar corn, dough, white candi syrup effect, soap, faint iron and rubber and very, very far away a grassy touch of hops, only noticeable when warming up and even then remaining very subdued. Simple malt sweet onset, more caramelly or biscuity than usual for the style (a feature already announced by the deep golden hue), with a metallic ’zing’ to it though not very disturbing; popcorn flavour too, bit oily mouthfeel but otherwise ’fuller’ than expected, with fairly spritzy carbo. Finishes in minerally carbonation, tingling on the root of the tongue and ’enlightening’ the boring, slick grainy and even ’soapy’ sweetness. I get a very faint touch of grassy hops all the way at the back, but very briefly so and not achieving anything bittering at all. Artificial, bland, sweet pale lager indeed, but in spite of the lack of hops, this still shows a more satisfying maltiness than is custom in these macro lagers. I cannot say I enjoyed, but it was in any case less bad than I expected. I guess this passes if served ice cold in Casablanca - or anywhere in Moroccan tourist attractions.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
bottle via Canada: pretty standard pale lager. I could see this being decent enough sitting in Morocco on a beach, but here in the real world, an average pale lager. Crisper and better than some, still a pale lager, though.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle. Clear yellow colour with white foam. Aroma: wheat, malts. Taste: malts, hint of caramel, some hoppy notes, a bit watery. Nothing special but better than many commercial lagers out there.
