COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Northwest sour style Scottish ale was barrel aged for six months in French oak. Smoke, peat and caramel malts greet you in the nose. Rich dark caramel, dark breads, peat and a hint of smoke on the palate are followed by a sweet dark candy finish that ends with a crisp dryness that lends itself to another sip for further contemplation. This is a hearty beer at 8.88%

Cascade Scottish ale which is supposed to be somewhat soured... Pours a darker mahogany, moStly opaque hue and topped with a thin creamy lightbulb beige head... aroma of muddled caramel malts with hints of tartness and tobacco note...Flavors of earthy light tart caramel malts with a touch of smoke coming through towards the end. Lighter bodied with soft carbonation. Muddled flavored for a base brew that you wouldn’t normally sour. 5/3/5/3/11

Cask at the barrel room. Cloudy reddish brown color, off white head. Aroma of sour prunes, a touch of butterscotch, and soft funk. Taste is softly sour apricot. Closer to a sour than a scotch ale. Tasty either way.
