UPDATED: JAN 4, 2009 This beer rocked! Thanks to the people at Art Larrange’s Raccoon Lodge who brew this and got me some. Smell is strong fruit and the taste is an ultra-strong, and well balanced, mix of fruit, sour and alcohol. The sourness prevails, like taking a bite of a huge apricot Sour-Patch Kid. The fruit flavors are fresh and abundant. Then, the backbone is the Belgian Tripel, which brings an entire new element and alcohol kick and serious complexity. Yes, it is very sweet and very sour, but it is also complex, balanced and tasty. I loved this beer.

Bottle shared by CaseyK...thanks Casey! - Pours hazy light orange with a bubbly off-white head. Nose is incredible--apricot jam mixed with dried apricot. Lightly sweet and something I could smell all day. Tastes smooth and sweet, citrus and apricot with some lactose and a yeasty malty backbone. Not terribly tart, but wonderful. Creamy and smooth, pretty full-bodied, and just a wonderful beer.

Off yellow pour, hazy with lots of head. Smells of apricot funk with lots of sourness. Very nice balance of the apricot and the sourness. Thanks to the bartender at monks for this one! Shared with james and pat.

750 ml corked and caged bottle. 2011 Project, 7.76% ABV. Pours cloudy orange with a medium off-white head that falls in about a minute into a skiff of foam. Aroma is full of apricot, dusty brett, Band-Aid. Taste is mouth-puckering sour, acidic, apricoty; finishes dry. Carbonation is pretty high, full-bodied. Excellent.

shared 750ml bottle. Cascade makes some damn good sours! And this is one of them - Cascade Apricot Ale pours a deep orange color with a thick 2 finger white head (which falls down to a solid 1/4"). The nose is filled with Oak, light apricot and lots of tartness from the lacto. Wonderful nose! Medium tart body with smooth sides and an aggressive front and back. Very carbonated at first... The body is overall pretty sour - with layers of wood, apricot and some yeast. The finish is a very dry tart apricot. Excellent Sour Ale from Cascade. Going to GABF? Hit these guys up - no lines and their sours are amazing!!!

2008. Loud forceful pop, yummy apricot, tart orange and lemon aroma. Hazy mustard, creamy white head. Sweet and tart apricot, juicy then dry. Strong tannic oak bite. Flavors ebb and flow from sweet to oak and in between. Glad I have another bottle.

2011 Project, 7.76% abv. It pours a hazy orange..apricot colour with a huge head of billowy foam. The tip of the foam looked so inviting so I tongued it. Hehe...sour apricot. Who’d have thunk. Oh, and there’s some good lacing left behind as the foam shrinks slowly. The smell: fruity tartness, big, oakiness medium, vanilla, hints. I can’t wait to take my first "official" sip. Ahh...sour apricot is so delicious up front and in the finish. Just the right amount of oak and light vanilla notes rounding off this most excellent brew. The second pour done and it’s a more than hazy. The foam was also easier to deal with, about a finger’s worth. The sourness never goes over the top so this, I think, would be a great beer to share with someone newish to the style. I also like how the abv is approachable; some slight warming but it doesn’t hurt the drinkability at all. I wish this came in smaller packages so I wouldn’t have to finish it in one go. I’ll be sad when it’s gone. Medium bodied, medium carbonation, excellent mouthfeel. Clearly, another great offering from the gang at Cascade!

UPDATED: SEP 28, 2012 Pours a golden orange color with a small white head. Aroma is sour peaches! The taste is so spectacular. Super sour peaches, balanced by a slight sweetness. One of the best sours I think I’ve ever had. I’m a huge fan. This is the first beer I’ve had from this brewery. I had it on tap and in the bottle while in Seattle and I was equally impressed both times. Really good for sour freaks.
