4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Cascade charges a lot for their beers. Despite this, I think they are the best brewery in Portland. This should say a lot for their beer. 8 ounce little glass from the brewery for six bucks, but I’d still say it’s a bargain. I’d rather have a tiny bit of this very beautifully crafted beer than a bunch of rounds of cheaper IPAs or stouts. The body is very well balanced and the smell is deliciously sour with a trickle of apricots to seal the deal. Great stuff.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
At Cascade brewpub wih Taylor, Stephen, and Dina. Pours orange hazy with layer of white head. Aroma is light melon, cantellop. Taste is nice apricot, light Mellon, medium-heavy acidity, hint if bandaid but not bad. Finish is lingering acidity with more light fruits. Not very complex, kind if one note, which is good, but a little heavy on acidity.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at the brewpub - Pours clear yellow with a white head. The aroma is ultra-fleshy apricots, richness, dried fruit and light sourness. It has a medium body with lots of semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor starts off with apricots, spice, mild sourness, pepper and hints of oak. The finish has lots of spice, fresh apricots and hint of bugginess. Great fruited sour ale.

Murky orange in colour with a thin off-white head, light lacing. The aroma has lots of apricots, pears and tropical fruits. The flavour is of apricots, tropical fruits and candy. Sweet mouthfeel, medium/light body, moderate carbonation. Finishes long, sweet with lots more apricots. Very nice stuff, sour and funky.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Location: Sampled at Where the Wild Beers Are, 6/7/14
Aroma: The nose is fruity and funky, quite acidic, and balanced nicely by the apricot
Appearance: It pours a cloudy reddish-orange with a creamy colored head on it
Flavor: The flavor is on the same trail, great combo of apricot, acidic funk, and some wood
Palate: The body is medium, it gets a little over-carbonated, but has a nice funky dryness
This one totally worked for me. Sometimes these fruit sours can get way too sweet, but that was not the case here at all. This, and the other Cascade beer I had at the festival, remind me that I need to drink more Cascade beers.
