Raspberry pinot noir color, albeit utterly flat. Sherry oak dominates the sense of smell. The flavor is more wonderfully nuanced, playing chords of chocolate, raisin, sherry, in undulations of harmonic flavor.

Dark garnet. No head. Deep, sweet fruit layered under a crisp tart note. Oak, brown sugar, and port wine under dark cherries and barnyard funk. Really tasty!

Draught at the Barrel House. Brilliant crimson with a fine head. Cherry, root beer, chocolate, vanilla and cream nose. Flavors of vanilla, bourbon, chocolate, cinnamon and nutmeg, cherries, and port. Amazing. All kinds of stuff going on. Rich, smooth, brilliant. Best of a night of great beers.

Pours light brown with small head and a complex enticing aroma. Taste is tart but with light notes of barrel, malt, spice and more. Not as nice as the Bcp brew but close. Very nice.

On tap at Cascade Brewing, pours a dark amber with a small tan head. Aroma of sour red fruits, oak barrels, wood and some dark sweet malts. Flavour of port liqueur, vanilla, burnt roasted nuts, dark fruits and oak. Very complex with low sourness - lots of complimentary flavours. Delicious.

Dark amber pour with a nice tan head. Aroma is sweet and fruity and some oak is present. I definitely get some candy sweetness in the taste to go along with a nice tart raspberry. Very good.

Dark amber with a dense creamy head. Aroma of oak and cherry. Taste had excellent sweet/sour balance. Delish!

Poured from tap into a snifter at the tap room in Portland. Pours a dark amber color with a small head.
Very much in a Flemish red style with aromas of tart raspberries, sour cherries, leather, and some red fruits.
Smooth and silky medium body with a nice acidic tart streak to it. Well balanced flavors of leather, sour cherries, some sherry flavors and a touch of candy.
The candy and sherry flavors threw me off a slight bit. The sourness wasn’t too much compared to the sang noir. A real quality oud bruin. Not all too surprising that cascade would do a great job.
