Tart and also sweet apricot on the nose, some dense orange peel. Great balance between sweet and tart, finishes dry.

Live from the Barrel @ Cascade Barrel House: Pours a golden color with a nice white head. The nose is fresh with a spicy yeast and earthy honey note along with a mild biscuitness. The flavor is balanced, not too tart but the spice from the rye is certainly there to upset things. Nice honey note in the finish and a light fresh crisp noble hop note in the tail. Simple but good.
2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 mabel (5043) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 13, 2010
[2950-20100626] Tap. Not much aroma, mild honey maybe. Clear, medium orange body with a quick foamy white head. Honey sweet bark flavour has bitter rye-like notes with a boozy hit and sweet aftertaste with a burn of whiskey. Medium-full body. Such a kick is not pleasant.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 jercraigs (6477) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 8, 2010
2010-06-26. Crisp golden yellow body with a modest foamy white head. 3+ Aroma starts sweet then takes on a grainy character with a not quite woody character to it. 6+ Flavour is similar, odd grainy flavours clashing a bit with sweet malt notes, alcohol shows itself briefly. Bit muddled. Average plus palate. On Tap at Raccoon Lodge, Portland.

A decent offering, well worth the money and i’d possibly get it again. Just didn’t knock my socks off. Tasted like the goal was to have hints of a lot of different flavor with nothing standing out. i think it succeeded in that respect. would make a sessionable beer.

tap at the brewpub. pours a golden orange with a smal lbeige head. notes of rye, honey, earth, hay, and some light spice character. not exciting enough to be awesome and a little too weird to be sessionable. okay, not great.

Another special bier from Cascade. A bit confusing. Spicy and malty aroma. Dark orange pour with thick white head. Much lacing. Spicy anise flavour, with sweetness. Finish rather like a bitter. Not a bad beer at all, but a bit more focus would be welcome.
