Poured a hazy pink-brown color with a pinkish-beige head. Bitter chocolate aroma with some sweet berry and a light tartness. The flavor is of chocolate and tart berry. Semi-dry finish with a light-medium body. Very lively mouthfeel.

Bottle, shared by acrdz. Thanks Mike! Pours a hazy red orange. Has a nice fruity and earthy smell and taste. Some light fruity tartness with mild acidity. Not too complex, but a very easy drinking sour ale that is not too sweet and is very tasty.

750ml bottle from John’s Market Place in Portland. Very nice soft and cloudy purple colored body, tan head on top. Pleasently pungent nose of stem/wood/hair blackberry, some note of cream in the nose as well, similar to that found in the Apricot, so likely a result of the yeast. Woody, tannic and dry, very pasty and chalky at times, but overall the berry character is mild, which can be nice at times, but with this one it seems that it would use more of a sour berry character as well as more of a strong, sour, tannic wood note. While it certainly tastes good, it would benefit from some more depth and complexity.

750. Thanks, Hogfodder! Pours black with a dense, rocky, and creamy tan head. Big, sharp, fruity, sweet blackberry nose. Medium, creamy body. The berry essense is blended effortlessly and cohesively into the body of a very drinkable light beligan ale. Never overpoweringly sweet, and never given over to hanging back to relying on a simple belgian structure, either. Great, balanced, fruit beer.

Rerate, 750mL bottle, sampled at the 1st Annual Shenandoah Beer Throwdown, courtesy of acrdz. Thanks, Mike! Pours a dark, pitty raspberry color; creamy, pinkish-brown head with excellent retention and creamy, glistening lacing; great pour. Pitty, tannic blackberry character in the aroma; basic dark fruit / black cherry character. Medium mouthfeel: dark cherry / blackberry notes; relaxed fruitiness, with lots of tannic stems and pits; basic, tannic fruit beer. Pretty good stuff. Medium finish: black cherries, dark fruits, and some breadiness. 7.5.7.4.13=3.6 ..... 750mL bottle, courtesy of jjpm74. Thanks, John! Pours a dark burgundy color; light tan head with solid, fine-bubbled lacing. Light tartness, dark fruits, and light sugar in the aroma. Medium mouthfeel: chewy, dark fruits, lightly toasty malts, and light breadiness upfront; mild tartness; solid amounts of dark fruits and toasty breadiness; under-developed, lightly tart fruit beer. Medium finish: dark fruits, toastiness, and a touch of sugar. 7.4.7.3.12=3.3

big pink-khaki head (from bottle), smell of sour berries--blackberries, vinegar, sugar, like blackberry syrup mixed with vinegar. opaque dark brown with reddish tinge. bubbly on the tongue. i taste teh sour berries. other flavors would be perhaps a guess.--a bit too simple.
