2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 DuffMan (5190) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 4, 2006
Is it a successful marketing strategy to move away from beer labels that provoke a sense of historical esteem to those that are cartoony and "youthfully humourous"? I don’t know and I don’t care. It’s what’s inside that counts. And inside this blokey bottle is pure averageness. I certainly didn’t taste ANY of the qualities listed by the previous rater (and believe me, I tried!). Instead I found a pale lager that was light in colour and just as light in flavour. Aside from a faintly wheaty palate with a very light hop presence, this beer has nowhere near the personality of its label (by some peoples’ stadards, that may actually be a good thing). An average easy-drinking summertime beer.

Well I was not expecting a lot and so I was not disappointed! I wasn’t excited either! Clear pale golden straw body with a good lasting solid white head. Light hops on the nose. Thin taste, some citrus notes and not a lot of anything else.

330ml bottle. Thina nd watery looking with a terrible aroma. Amber colour with a thin simple white head. Aroma of straw with a faint hint of citrus. Clean and crisp in the mouth with an easy drinkability to it.
1.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 Spiesy (2338) - Sydney, Greater London, AUSTRALIA - APR 29, 2006
Bottled. Arrreee…yess another beer for the sake of it. Cascade actually do a decent premium ale so I had expected more from this beer. Hops, bitterness, body and flavour are all missing. Drattt.
2.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 ALLOVATE (2098) - Butler, AUSTRALIA - DEC 21, 2005
A little chauvinistic of the Cascade lads to think that a beer with the characteristics of an all round crowd-pleaser to the fairer sex should be named in honour of what most men think of each time they down a few of these. My wife loved this one, stating "Mmm, that’s a girls drink"; after just one sip. Pretty much summed it up really! So if any of that made sense I shall now rate it. Poured into a weissbier glass; clear, yellowish gold body, well charged. Typically Aussie pale lager looking with a huge, albeit certainly artificial, fluffy white crown that left rings down the glass. Fairly light on in the nose. Watermelon and fruit rinds, maybe a little honey. Not at all exciting in the mouth with watered down lemon cordial, passion-fruit and table sugar (Traditional lemonade!?!) making up the thinly soapy palate. Light in body and reasonably soft in carbonation; a slight ’zing’ comes in down the side of the tongue and the finish is dominated by a flavour like ’Passiona’ soft drink. Nothing offensive in this one, it really wasn’t beer in my own opinion, but hey if the chicks dig it..... (375mL, 23/05/06)
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 davidm (1774) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - OCT 4, 2011
Bottle 330ml from Parkhill cellars. Half-decent. Aroma is citrusy and floral. Taste is sweet and short-lived. Palate is oily, with a thin-to-medium body. Blonde, with a frothy head.
2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Stew41 (1572) - Woodend, AUSTRALIA - NOV 28, 2005
Very clear light yellow (blond?). Heaps of bubbles in the glass; soft drink-like. Nose has some character, faintly spicy with some aromatics. A bit of a surprise in the mouth….more herbally hoppy notes and spice, a little reminisce of a German hefe (but only just). Essentially light bodied but some credit must to the Cascade for the slight deviation from the norm.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 maneliquor (1553) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - NOV 16, 2011
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pretty bland and easy going beer. Not really bad in any way. I found it had mixed notes of wheat and lager yeast. Was a little bit of an in-between beer. Solid quaffer
