2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 farmboy (218) - Barwon Heads, - NOV 27, 2005
UPDATED: DEC 20, 2005 Disappointing. Not a lot different from the Premium Lager in my opinion. It’s drinkable and reasonably refreshing, but there’s not much to this beer. Should have been calkled Cascade Bland.
Re-rate: on tap at the Transport Bar in Mebourne on a sunny Friday arvo. Must admit a few of these went down rather nicely. A bit more subtle than Cascade Premium Lager and I quite enjoyed it for a summer thirst quencher.
2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Dervock (303) - Emu plains, AUSTRALIA - NOV 23, 2011
Bottle - Pours pale yellow with large white head. Not a great deal of aroma, more from the bottle than the glass, slight hint of malt and some resin. As with the aroma not a great deal of taste very neutral with a slight dry finish.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 maneliquor (1188) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - NOV 16, 2011
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pretty bland and easy going beer. Not really bad in any way. I found it had mixed notes of wheat and lager yeast. Was a little bit of an in-between beer. Solid quaffer
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 davidm (1361) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - OCT 4, 2011
Bottle 330ml from Parkhill cellars. Half-decent. Aroma is citrusy and floral. Taste is sweet and short-lived. Palate is oily, with a thin-to-medium body. Blonde, with a frothy head.
2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Davros (1021) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - AUG 16, 2011
Pours amber with a large, fading head.
Uber-skunky aroma, but also some honey, wheat, citrus and coriander.
Flavours also show a fair whack of citrus and coriander, other just a lot of sweet malt and very soft doughy wheat. Could really use some bitterness!
Very watery body.
2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 jimmy01 (17) - AUSTRALIA - APR 9, 2011
Good carbonatiuon and head formation. Bland taste. No wheatiness or citrus. Very ordinary
2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 bmeup (418) - Ormeau, AUSTRALIA - NOV 23, 2010
Pretty average as expected, though does have some malt & hop character. Original wheat beer? Kinda like their all the others out there.
1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 tom_clift (44) - Carnegie, AUSTRALIA - OCT 14, 2010
Keg at brewery. Very light body, easy drinking with a distinct citrus note. Bland, but could easily knock back a few on a hot summer day.
2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 Maris (544) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - JUL 9, 2010
From a 375ml bottle on 10/7/2010. The label says this is a wheat beer, though I note its characterised as a premium lager here. The latter seems more accurate. Has a very slight floral citrus aroma, with a modest sweet citrus (lemon) flavour and just a touch of hops. Quite pedestrian, and possibly the least wheaty wheat beer I’ve come across.
1.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 mkel07 (1806) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - OCT 9, 2009
330ml bottle. Thina nd watery looking with a terrible aroma. Amber colour with a thin simple white head. Aroma of straw with a faint hint of citrus. Clean and crisp in the mouth with an easy drinkability to it.
1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 5/20 BarossaLuke (437) - AUSTRALIA - SEP 27, 2009
This is really a rather insipid beer, if you can call it that. The whole"blonde"thing in Australia has been completely overdone by the major breweries. This is yet another cynical "low carb"lager with little going for it. There might be malt and hops in there somewhere, I’ll take their word for it.
