This NW style sour ale blends wheat & blond ales that were oak aged in barrels for 6 mths, then additionally aged 4 mths on fresh blueberries. Huge herbal notes of dense blueberries in the nose give way to hints of oak & a dusty floral note. Rich earthy notes of dark fruit on the palate lead to a tart finish that dries out to a base note of blueberry skins.

Refrigerated 75 cl brown bottle, 2014, corked and capped poured into tulip. Clear dark red with small off-white head. Aroma is tart blueberry, medium/light body, medium/light carbonation, and a little lacing. Taste is tart, some oak, and hints of blueberries. Hoped for more blueberry.

On draft at the Barrel House in Aug 2014 with Erica, Matt. Bright bright red pour with white head and soapy lacing that disappears. Tart red wine grapes on the tongue with some dry tannins; good, robust body. Dry on the way down. Not a lot of blueberry noticed somehow.

Bomber. Darker pour. Tart blueberry skin aroma and taste. A bit sweet and jammy, but that gets overshadowed by the tart dark fruit. Good stuff!

750 mL bottle shared by me at Gus's house for a tasting. 2014 vintage. The pour is a bright ruby color With a thin ring of white head and some decent lace. The aroma is great blueberry with a lovely sour character and a delightful oak complexity. The wood adds a great character. The flavor is really good. Sour up front but then it mellows out to a blueberry sweetness on the back end. The fruit is great and the oak adds such a mellowing tone. I wish this was more sour throughout. The mouth feel is thin and crisp. Greatly acidic first and just lovely. Carbonation is sharp and it has an oaky acidic finish. Good beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle shared with koleminer20. Aroma is sour, blueberry. Appearance is maroon, off white head. Taste is sour, then fades to blueberry, finishes minty. Mouthfeel is sour, very crisp carbonation and decent mouthfeel. Overall, pretty decent for someone not a fan of the style.

750 ml bottle at home. Pours mucky red with a purple hue, quickly dissapearing head. Very tart and jammy forest fruit aroma, some little nut as well. Lactic. Sour body, backed with a decent dose of sweetness. Taste is raspberry jam mixed with lemon juice. Tart and sour yes, balanced no.

This one pours a dark berry pour. Very subtle blueberry nose. Sharp carbonation. A deep blueberry flavor. Tart tingle on tongue that stays juicy and dry. Good stuff. Love the berry acidity. Good stuff.

At the brewery in Portland, with Z and A , pours a light red pink color with a white head. Nose is tart and pungent ! Taste is dark fruit mixed with deep tartness and sourness. Finish is dry and acidic, expected a little more blueberry in the finish . Quaff Score 7 / 10
