This NW style sour ale blends wheat & blond ales that were oak aged in barrels for 6 mths, then additionally aged 4 mths on fresh blueberries. Huge herbal notes of dense blueberries in the nose give way to hints of oak & a dusty floral note. Rich earthy notes of dark fruit on the palate lead to a tart finish that dries out to a base note of blueberry skins.

Pours a pretty cloudy red color. Honestly red. Aromas of dusty blueberries, some cobweb. Taste is pretty fruity and sour. Dusty. Quick finish. Very good.

Sampled at the Barrel House. This one is a hazy red shade with a ring of light pinkish white foam. As expected, blueberries start coming forth in the aroma. To me it actually tastes more like a red grape sour, but blueberry certainly comes out in the finish. Much more tart than some of the other Cascades I had. Good stuff.

Pours a nice deep pink purple liquid with a pink fluffy head. Aroma: aroma has some dark berries, blueberry, green apples, sour, some funk, some barnyard. Nice and balanced. Taste: sour, nice fruity component but not too much blueberries initially, Get more bluberries in the back. Some funk in there. 2012 bottle. Good sour!

Pour a clear purple with a thin tainted head that disappears and could not be revived. Aroma is really fruity with red fruits being at the front (not sure I would have picked blueberries as the fruit here, it felt more like cherries to me). Taste is a bit weird, with a kool-aid / tang like feel. I mean, it is a little watery and fruity and it felt really artificial to me. A good one that could maybe use more fruits in the fermenter.

750 ml bottle shared with Tom and chums. Pours a clear pinkish with a short lived white head. Aroma is fruit (especially blueberry and grapes), spicy. Flavor is fruity, blueberry, raspberry, grapes. Finish is very tart. Some red wine quality in there, too. Lingering tartness, fruitiness. Light to medium body, sticky mouthfeel, average carbonation. Pretty good!

(750ml bottle thanks to Nellie) clear, bright red, pretty colored beer. Nose of blueberry, stems, juniper, other tart fruit, light oak, and yogurt. Taste of tart blueberry, fruit comes through nicely, VERY light vinegar but present, more vinous and red winelike as it warms, tart/acidic linger, pretty nice fruit sour.
