This NW style sour ale blends wheat & blond ales that were oak aged in barrels for 6 mths, then additionally aged 4 mths on fresh blueberries. Huge herbal notes of dense blueberries in the nose give way to hints of oak & a dusty floral note. Rich earthy notes of dark fruit on the palate lead to a tart finish that dries out to a base note of blueberry skins.

I adore blueberries. This brew is so good in blueberry aroma. Some basement aroma that was real enjoyable as well. The flavor is verity tart and tons of blueberr. Some back end oak and cedar. Perfect brew.

From a 750 into a snifter. Pours a crazy blue color! Kinda frightened me at first but then I realized it was really cool. Little to no head or lacing. Berry and vinegar aroma. Mouthfeel was weak and watery. ech. Taste was odd at first, but when it warmed up the blueberry shone through. Tart, but not overpoweringly so. Meh, I hoped and expected more from Cascade... especially for the price.

Not much of a sour guy but I actually enjoyed this one. More funky on the nose the taste. Surprisingly good blueberry flavor. Was worried that the funk would overpower but I was delightfully proved wrong.

750 mL bottle shared at the 9th Richmond Rare & Unusual Epic Tasting, Richmond, VA, 11/30/14. Pours a hazy purple with a thin white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of peppery funk, dry tart blueberries. The taste is tart blueberries, fresh blueberries, sweet and funky finish. Medium bodied, lingering bitterness.

Bottle thanks to prufrockstar in the mystery box trade! Pours a beautiful people from the bottle with quickly dissipating bubbly head that continues to bubble with carbonation. Aroma of big funky must with nice sweet fruitiness behind it. Taste follows, sweet tart blueberries follows acidic sourness. Good balance if not a little over the top on the sour, great carbonation, all around amazing.

Beatiful pinkish-red to purple colour, with a brownish haze and a small pinkish rim. Very fruity nose, red fruit, berries, raspberry, blueberry, bilberry. Sourish, faintly woody, faintly lactic. Surplus of fruitacids, and a perfumey finish, very tart. Finish becomes bilberry to me. Hints of lemon and wild yeasts. Light dry-out effect. Long-lasting berry flavours, getting drier and drier. Another little marvel. I can quite dig these sours. Many thanks to M & L V.!

Sampled at Where the Wild Beers Are, 6/7/14
This is a pinkish-purple colored beer. It has a fruity/berry aroma. Slightly herbal. Some woody notes. Another very tasty fruit sour from Cascade. These guys do fruit sours and they do them well.
