COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This NW style sour ale blends wheat & blond ales that were oak aged in barrels for 6 mths, then additionally aged 4 mths on fresh blueberries. Huge herbal notes of dense blueberries in the nose give way to hints of oak & a dusty floral note. Rich earthy notes of dark fruit on the palate lead to a tart finish that dries out to a base note of blueberry skins.

Pours a ruby red color with a light pink head. Nose is floral, grassy, leather and freshly churned wet soil. Taste is funky sweat, doughy bread and earthy fruit tones. Dry mouthfell.

At a tasting, thanks DSG, small bubbly pink head, very hazy red colour, berry flavour with mud, manure and herbal tea, fruity flavour with vinegar and herbal tea, not too sour. Quite nice but not too refined.

This one poured a semi hazy dark blue color with a small pinkish head. Aroma was of blueberry skins, lemons, wood, and hay. Flvor was pretty sour, funk blueberry, and cheesy lemons.

750ml bottle from Proof. Deep red pour with a pink head. Aroma of jammy blueberry and light oak, leather, vinegar. Tastes are along the same lines with a nice sharp tartness. Not getting a lot of blueberry specifically, but mix of berries balanced with light vinegar. Delicious. Could drink gallons if it weren’t crazy expensive the rare times we get it.

Bottle shared at a sour tasting at Noam’s office. Thanks troganmi for this bottle! 2012 bottle. Nice clear red with a pinkish head. Aroma is a bit medicinal, with berries, oak and some funk. Sour flavor with berries, oak, light sweetness, citric notes and some funk. Medium-bodied.

Grant is now equally as much a man as Paul. Stunning pour, a deep blood red with hints of blue. Just a gorgeous beer, with blueberry and blackberry melding with a lovely herbal tang, tannic zing, pomegranate, raspberry; So nice that the pure blueberry character yields such a complex, overarching bouquet. Definite oak in there, but soft and clean. Outrageous.

Very purply and definitely has a blueberry flavor. Solid, but not Cascade’s best work.

750ml bottle in a tulip. Pours deep blue/purple with a pinkish head. Aroma of sourness, blueberry, light oak, and pale malts. Flavor a cool blend of it all. Average texture. Another cool Cascade fruit sour.
