COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This NW style sour ale blends wheat & blond ales that were oak aged in barrels for 6 mths, then additionally aged 4 mths on fresh blueberries. Huge herbal notes of dense blueberries in the nose give way to hints of oak & a dusty floral note. Rich earthy notes of dark fruit on the palate lead to a tart finish that dries out to a base note of blueberry skins.

750ml bottle from the brewpub in Portland. Pours a deep purple color with a pinkish white head and so e lacing. Aroma is funky, yeasty, Brett, some fruity blueberry aroma. Medium on the palate with average carbonation. Flavor is sour, funky, fruity, blueberry, with a nice funky, sour finish. Very nice.

Bottle. Pours almost purple, or maybe I’m just imagining that. Medium acidity, some solid blueberry sweetness, just a hint of funk, light candy sweetness, and a little tartness in the finish. Solid.

Bottle shared with some dads. Pours a purple pink body with nice lacing. Aroma is tart blueberry. Mouthfeel is medium and tart with light funk, lots of blueberries and some tart candy in the background. Pretty straight forward blueberry sour ale.

Thanks to 5000 for sending this bottle my way. Andre always is there with a great PNW hookup. Purple-blue pour with a white head. There is some nice blueberry notes in the flavor and aroma, but that is accompanied by some nice funk, vanilla and oak. There is some nice tartness but it is not overpowering and the fruit is still allow to come through. Quite complex. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

From the April 2013 3R6P beer tasting. +++ Sampled from a 750 ml corked brown bottle this beer poured a very dark plum-blood red color with a medium sized foamy pink head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was funky, tart, sour, vague berries, pepper and Sweettart candies. the flavor was dry, tart and sour with funk, chalk and strong tart berries. Very long dry, tart and sour berry and funk finish. Medium body. Interesting.

Bottle generously shared at tasting with RB crew. Pours blue-ish purple with foamy pinkish head. Smells like sour fresh blueberries, wood and some funkiness. Taste is tart blueberry skins and yeast with some woody funkiness. Really enjoyable and refreshing.

750 ml bottle shared by b3shine. Pours a slightly hazy reddish purple color with a small off white head. The aroma has a nice blueberry fruit character, mildly tart, woody, mild acidity, some earthy notes and light funk. The flavor is moderate blueberry fruit, wood, lightly acidic, mildly tart with some earthy qualities. This is not overly sour and doesn’t have the massive fruit punch of a Belgian Red, but this is still tasty and definitely worth trying.

Tasted strongly of berries, all manner. Lots of fizzy bubbles and a reddish color. Taste was tart and sweet but not overly acidic. Lots of berry, some lemon, Nicely balanced and delicious. Some oak to add depth but not much in the way of grain. A little on the dry side.

750 ml pours a dark ruby red with a light purple head. Tart blueberry aroma. Strong sour tart blueberry with a bit of the oak wine finish.
