COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This NW style sour ale blends wheat & blond ales that were oak aged in barrels for 6 mths, then additionally aged 4 mths on fresh blueberries. Huge herbal notes of dense blueberries in the nose give way to hints of oak & a dusty floral note. Rich earthy notes of dark fruit on the palate lead to a tart finish that dries out to a base note of blueberry skins.

It pours sort of dirty rutty red copper with thin off white head, cool looking brew. The aroma offers up tartness o-plenty along with thin whiffs of vague fruitiness almost too far away to smell. The taste is similar as this is largely acidic, dry mineral notes and crushed aspirin tartness. I suppose, like the nose, there are light vaguely fruity notes off in the distance that I’m having trouble seeing or tasting, so there’s that.

Bottle sampled at Muckfest III. Pours a clear reddish purple color with a thin head. Aroma of blueberries, malt and tartness. Malty flavor turning to blueberry pie before a tart finish. Very nice.

I had this on tap while I was on vacation. It was amazing! The best of the day. The IPA was also excellent.

Pour is like looking through rose-colored glasses. Aroma is blueberry muffin. Sourness competes a bit more with the blueberry rather than complimenting it but still mighty tasty.

Sample at Stone sour ale fest 2012. Bubbly clear reddish purple pour. Very nice blueberry aroma, mmm fresh blueberry. Flavor is tart lemon, blueberry, grain, and moderate sourness. Nice and refreshing, and not too over the top compared to other cascade sours. It would be great on hot summer day.

Bottle shared at MuckFest 3 - Saturday Edition. Pours a richly purple pink hue, healthy glow and richly berry hued body. A frothy offwhite head atop dies to a decent ring, laces ok. Good colors and rich glow. Aromas are richer blueberry, a touch muffiny, quickly moving to sour lemons, sour berries, blueberry, touches of oak, bready malts. A bit pulpy, firm blueberry, a bit fuzzy and well carbonated. Initial is spritzy and prickly, well carbonated on the light end of medium bodied. Pulpy blueberry, lemony sourness, lactic acid, touches of yogurt and fuzzy carbonation hits the palate. Some bready malts, more yogurt, firm sourness blends with blueberry elements, lactic acid. Lemons, touches of fuzzy carbonation. Really enjoyable sour fruit ale, with a firm lactic presence, rich fresh blueberries, vibrant aroma and carbonation. A touch sweeter in flavor.. But overall, a very nice experience.

750 ml bottle shared by bsuedekum- thanks again, Blake! 2011 project. Pours a cloudy ruby grapefruit juice color with a small off-white ring for a head and some big carbonation bubbles throughout. Aroma of blueberries, lemon, oak, funk, 7-Up, and grapefruit peel. Flavor of blueberry, lactic acid, lemon, Sweet Tarts, 7-Up, and yogurt. Light-medium bodied, with high, bubbly carbonation and a very tart, soda-like mouthfeel.

poured from tap into a tulip. Pours a nice cherry color with a nice small head. Very berry driven aromas with tones of fresh picked berries, blueberries, and some violet aromas. Very aromatic and delicious. Very silky medium feel and excellent flavors of tart berries, blueberries, violets and a touch of oak as well. Almost a kriek and very tasty. Yet another great offering from cascade.
