COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This NW style sour ale blends wheat & blond ales that were oak aged in barrels for 6 mths, then additionally aged 4 mths on fresh blueberries. Huge herbal notes of dense blueberries in the nose give way to hints of oak & a dusty floral note. Rich earthy notes of dark fruit on the palate lead to a tart finish that dries out to a base note of blueberry skins.

Bottle at the BA Buffalo bottle share. Pours red amber, small head. Nose of Brett and berries. Taste is more of the same plus a strange bandaid aftertaste. Body is light and slick textured. Not a terrible brew, perhaps not the best example from this sour brewery.

This one pours a dark berry pour. Very subtle blueberry nose. Sharp carbonation. A deep blueberry flavor. Tart tingle on tongue that stays juicy and dry. Good stuff. Love the berry acidity. Good stuff.

At the brewery in Portland, with Z and A , pours a light red pink color with a white head. Nose is tart and pungent ! Taste is dark fruit mixed with deep tartness and sourness. Finish is dry and acidic, expected a little more blueberry in the finish . Quaff Score 7 / 10

On tap at Cascade Brewery in Portland. Pours a ruby red with a pink head and aroma of tart blueberries and wheat. Taste is tart, with lots of blueberries, wheat, and fruity sourness into the finish.

The best sours this side of Bermuda. Only down side is huge money for this 750 bottle....forty bucks ouch. Never the less worth it as it has so much going on. Huge blueberry aroma off the start. Poured light light red, may be dark orange Light head. Flavors of everything, from hay, barnyard freshh blueberries and ending of very tart acids. After all that the blueberries cruise back in for the finish line. A+

Very tart fruity ale from a large shared bottle. More genetic frruitiness until the aftertaste when the blueberries come out more clearly. Too funky for me

Draught at Beer Mongers, Portland, as Cascade Blueberry Oak Aged NW Sour
Cloudy dark red color with pinkish head. Very nice aroma, it’s mild, fruity, sour, a bit yeasty, with some nut kernels that add a layer of complexity, hazelnuts. Smooth and super dry; the fruit is prominent, the acidity level is just right, with lemon qualities, it also has some tannins and mild final astringency. Very pleasant to drink, like a milder Lambic.
Excellent.

750ml bottle pours a hazy purple with some cloudy pink head. Nose is straight blueberry pie, juicy, not too much else, some juicy red wine maybe. Flavor is sweet and tart, berry, some pie, juicy. Medium bodied and lightly tart.

Pink hazy burgundy, little head, fleeting. Aroma is big blueberry far away from the glass. Closer it’s dusty funk and wood, sweet fruit, aromatic and floral. Flavor is fruit sugar juice sweet, light sour, dull lemon end. Feel is water and dusty with tart tickle end. Really easy and enjoyable.
