COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This NW style sour ale blends wheat & blond ales that were oak aged in barrels for 6 mths, then additionally aged 4 mths on fresh blueberries. Huge herbal notes of dense blueberries in the nose give way to hints of oak & a dusty floral note. Rich earthy notes of dark fruit on the palate lead to a tart finish that dries out to a base note of blueberry skins.

Bottle:   Pours violet, definite pinkish hue, moderate to thin sudsy white head, spotty lacing.   Aroma of unripened Blueberries, well at least Blueberry bushes.   Its like unsweetened immature Blueberries.   Tart on the tongue up front, backside is dry with a soft unripened Blueberry sweetness.   Very clean this is.   Comes across as very dry and very tart.   Nothing off about this one.   Not as big and robust as some of their other offerings, but it is certainly tart, fruity, and mouth puckering.   Strong woodiness on the nose as well as on the tongue.   I keep thinking to myself how clean this one is.   The more I drink, the more I realize how dry this one is.   My mouth is very much puckering after a few sips.   While the Blueberry aspect is there, its not as strong as I would have liked.   Either way, this is a very clean and well put together PNW sour ale.   Comes across as very clean and very easy to drink.   Easily one of the better Blueberry beers I have had, ever!

750, corked and baled. Thanks, J&A! Pours a dark rubied amber with a dense and fizzy pink head that falls quickly away. Funky barnyard on the nose with a tinge of tart berry. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Oak and balsamic on the mid-palate with a dry, oaky, slightly minerally finish. Pretty good.

Draft at City Beer, SF, CA. Purple rAspberry pour. Fruity acidic and tart aroma. Blueberry raspberry driven tartness, highly tart and acidic. Another winner from cascade

DLD 2012: Pinkish hue with a fizzy head. The profile was tart blueberries and white grapes, oak, wheat, biscuit, mineral, and a hint of tannins. The mouth feel was quite refreshing, sprite and lively with just the right amount of oak dryness. I really enjoyed this even with the high level of acidity. Nice!

In short: A lightly funky, not-so-sour and very fruity ale with plenty of berries. Excellent
How: Bottle shared with friends, post Tap-NY 2012 Hotel party. Unfortunately a Danish-style sample on this one. Tick
The look: Cloudy dark red body topped by a small pink-ish head
In long: Nose is very fruity (all kinds of berries, not just blueberries) with a bit of funk. Taste is very fruity, sharp and clean, only a light sourness and mild lactic acidity. Oak remains discreet. This is as much a fruit beer (and an excellent one at that) as it is a Sour/Wild ale. Maybe because it was still young and the funk will transform the beer. I will eventually drink a full bottle of this and re-evaluate what it has evolved, but a fresh sample proved to be a superb mildly funky fruit ale. Anyway, it was well worth crushing thousands of blueberries to make this great beer, just like it was well worth drowning hundreds of babies to make that great Nirvana Nevermind cover.

"Deep purple blue pour. Wonderful aroma and flavor of fresh blueberries, herbal and floral as well. Very fresh tasting, moderately sour. Probably the best blueberry beer I’ve had..."

Bottle shared at MuckFest 3 - Saturday Edition. Pours a richly purple pink hue, healthy glow and richly berry hued body. A frothy offwhite head atop dies to a decent ring, laces ok. Good colors and rich glow. Aromas are richer blueberry, a touch muffiny, quickly moving to sour lemons, sour berries, blueberry, touches of oak, bready malts. A bit pulpy, firm blueberry, a bit fuzzy and well carbonated. Initial is spritzy and prickly, well carbonated on the light end of medium bodied. Pulpy blueberry, lemony sourness, lactic acid, touches of yogurt and fuzzy carbonation hits the palate. Some bready malts, more yogurt, firm sourness blends with blueberry elements, lactic acid. Lemons, touches of fuzzy carbonation. Really enjoyable sour fruit ale, with a firm lactic presence, rich fresh blueberries, vibrant aroma and carbonation. A touch sweeter in flavor.. But overall, a very nice experience.

750 ml bottle shared by b3shine. Pours a slightly hazy reddish purple color with a small off white head. The aroma has a nice blueberry fruit character, mildly tart, woody, mild acidity, some earthy notes and light funk. The flavor is moderate blueberry fruit, wood, lightly acidic, mildly tart with some earthy qualities. This is not overly sour and doesn’t have the massive fruit punch of a Belgian Red, but this is still tasty and definitely worth trying.
