4.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Deep red blue color with a moderate pink tan head that lingers nicely much more retention than most sours.. Aroma is funk berries or funkberries... Touch of lemon aroma... Sickly legit... Flavor is funk tart up front and finishes as lightly sweet fresh blueberries... Medium bodied... Masterfully crafted... Wow... It’s not complex in the flavor profile as it finishes, but up front it is... Wow...

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
3-year-old bottle shared with Jacob.
Light purple pour, quite dry, deeply sour but clean sour rather than funky sour in exactly the expected fashion, blueberries there but not overbearing. Quite tasty but miles short of blabeer.

Thanks to Matt for this one! Vintage 2012.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
750ml corked bottle pours a reddish brown color when held to the light with a fizzy white head that leaves no lacing on the glass. Aroma is of dark fruit and musty yeast notes with hints of wood. Taste is a big tartness from the fruit and a malty sweetness underneath, finishing with a bit of yeast funk. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, a very sour ale that takes some getting used to. Burns on the way down, but still a quality brew.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750 ml corked and caged bottle, 2015 Project, 8.23% ABV printed on label. Served in a Prairie Teku, the beer pours a slightly hazy reddish/purple color with about an inch light pink head that fizzled away quickly. Not much lacing at all. I like the aroma, the brew smells like tart fruit, oak, earthy funk, vanilla and some blueberries. For the most part I think the taste is similar to the aroma, but with some wheat/grainy malt noticeable. Also, I think the blueberry is stronger in the taste than it is compared to the aroma. It’s fruity and tart with some sweetness, too. Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it has a good amount of carbonation and it’s easy and enjoyable to drink. I liked this brew a lot. It took a while for me to pull the trigger on buying this because of the price, but I’m glad I picked this up. I’ll have to try some of the other Cascade brews soon. $25.99 a bottle.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Damn what a near perfect beer this is. Aroma was outstanding. Strong funk, vinegar and yeast. Pour was a nice dark red/near purple with a thin off white film for a head. Taste was, again, near perfection. Very strong sour fruit flavor that leaves no sweetness in. There’s an underlying fruitiness to it that was more blueberry skin (or even grape skin) without the flesh of the fruit, but this beer was all about mouth puckering sourness. Nice big strong carbonation that bit the cheeks. So great on so many levels.
