Draft at uber. Pours a murky very dark amber with no head or lace. Big sweet bready spicy rye on the nose. Creamy medium flat body. Sweet bourbon and oak on the mid palate blending well with the rye. Long sweet bourbon vanilla on the finish. Carbonated, this beer would be exceptional.

Served live from the barrel at Cascade Barrel House. Striking rye aroma upfront, followed quickly by an oaky tang. Color is mahogany, very slight haze (to be expected w/ a live beer.) Flavor is sweeter than I expected, with a slightly bourbony twist. Mouthfeel is somewhat thin for 8.5%. The finish has the rye tartness and some dryness from the oak barrel. A strange hybrid, but should be a winner with rye fans.
